We had the good fortune of connecting with TahChon Mills and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TahChon, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is knowing that I’m making a positive impact on my peers as well as others. Spreading the word of the importance of early childhood literacy is one of my superpowers. There’s several children come up to me asking when I will release my next book, when will I come to their school to read, or just to take a picture and let me know they appreciate me. And that means so much to me. My music have great messages in them that can be relatable to all ages and walks of life. Music is my therapy. I feel as though I can change the world one listener at a time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m always in my community giving back or volunteering at events with different groups and/or organizations. I enjoy being a recording artist, actor, author, model, and kidpreneur. I’m a natural entertainer. Lights. Camera. Action. Yes, those are some of my favorite words to hear. When I’m onset it is so much fun getting into character and meeting new people. Some projects I’ve filmed on includes The Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3, The Color Purple, The Residents, Spilled Paint, Black Santa, About Him, Pressure, and The Dirty Birds. I’ve ran into some great people, to name a few Oprah, James Gunn, JeKalyn Carr, David and Tamala Mann, Chris Pratt, Hallie Bailey, Malcolm Jamal Warner, and several others. I enjoy being able to show off my many personalities thru acting. While on the runway it’s all about me and how I present the brand and design I’m wearing. The runway is like a red carpet where I can freely leave it all on the floor. When traveling from city to city, or state to state my main focus is to bring awareness about the importance of early childhood literacy in the most fun and effective way. I’ve learned that being myself and having fun with my brand is the best way I could deliver my messages. I would love for the world to know that my brand is in sync with my story; each one teach one. I’m okay with being unique. Standing out separates me from the crowd.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area I would most definitely take them to Tyler Perry Studios, Aquarium, Sloomoo Slime Institute, ,Rigsby’s Water Park, and the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins. We would eat at Sugar Factory, Hibachi, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Walk Ons. We would hang out at LegoLand, Six Flags, White Water, Black WallStreet, and Sky Zone.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Ronnie (Gucci) Franklin
