Meet Taeler Buchanan | Mother, Published Writer, and Founder of Cre8tive Collective

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taeler Buchanan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taeler, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Hi, Voyage! Thanks for the opportunity. I’d have to say when I first realized I wanted to pursue writing, I knew that I wanted to find the right people who could inspire, motivate and encourage me. The creative path can be a lonely one and it can be easy to quit when you don’t feel supported. I wanted to create a space for artists to thrive.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a lot of creative ideas that pop into my head everyday and bringing them to life is so rewarding. Helping others to bring their creative visions to light is even more. Finding the right people with the right skills to execute the right message.. there’s not much of a better feeling than that, as a creative. My vision when I created the directory for Cre8tive Collective came when COVID hit. There were no more opportunities to throw our regular community networking events, so I designed our website to be a marketplace of sorts. Where you can login, create your brand/business listing, browse our community pages and make a direct connection to collaborate with other visionaries, just like yourself. As a creative myself, I try to release my own creativity in a number of ways.. I don’t stick to just one lane of expression when I write. I have a book blog on Instagram, at Read and Pose, where I create themed photoshoots and write reviews on the books I read. I’ve written film scripts, nursery rhymes, created my own set of “story” flashcards to help my son and other littles recognize sight words as they read. I truly like to think of my world as a book and I love that I get to write my own chapters.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One great thing about living in Atlanta is there is ALWAYS something to do, if you go looking for it. Atlanta is so lively and honestly the amount of creative and talented people living here is inspiring. I love networking in Atlanta. I think I would like to start the day off at a breakfast shop, Juliana’s Crepes in Inman Park to be exact. After that, I would probably find a festival or a market for us to walk around in or visit the High to soak up some culture and of course, we’d have to eat at one of the many foodie spots nearby. It would be fun to end the day meeting and talking to people, so I would probably sit at the bar/food hall in Colony Square next, because there’s always people to find with interesting stories at a big bar like that. Yeah.. I think that would be a great day to have with my best friend.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I’m ever asked this question I always say I would like to recognize my son, Nov Omari. Without him, I couldn’t reach as deep for my resilience and willpower. My son is my world, my everything and my drive to always keep trying. He inspires me everyday to be all that I am.. (creative, driven and sometimes silly haha) to show him that he can be all that he is, one day too.
