Meet Tacia Taylor | CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tacia Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tacia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process for starting my own business was simple to meet the need for access to authentic New Orleans cusines outside of New Orleans.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m in the food truck industry and I offer authentic New Orleans Cuisines. In August, 2005 Hurricane Katrina caused me to have a pivotal experience which landed me in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Approximately 5 years ago I started what I thought would be a e-commerce business shipping gumbo throughout the United States. The requests kept coming and a path was illuminated for me to step out on faith and purchase a food truck.
Although I have met many fellow food truck owners who are offering amazing food options. I stand out because I offer a unique product not commonly provided to this region. Consistency has afforded me to build a loyal customer base who support me wherever I go.
Nola Girl’s Gumbo offers a variety of authentic New Orleans dishes that are prepared with love, rich bold flavors that warm your heart with every spoonful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living here in the scenic city affords you the opportunity to experience and see the beauty of every season. I definitely would take my friend downtown and experience the beauty of the river from the walking bridge to Ross Landing. For dining we would check out the cool brunch restaurants that offer mouth watering delights with the perfect ambiance. We would the Bessie Smith Museum and learn about the rich heritage of talented artists who are natives of the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
