Meet Tachen (Tekken) Tutdeal | Comedian, Actor, Entertainer, Musical Artist, Motivational Speaker, Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tachen (Tekken) Tutdeal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tachen (Tekken), do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
One piece of advice that did not resonate with me was the suggestion that I limit my enthusiasm to a single field. As if that were the determining factor in my success. I found that I am a complex individual. The objective was to surround myself with entrepreneurs who motivated me and could be able to assist me in launching my entertainment career. When I moved to Atlanta, I had only a few hundred committed fans, but I was able to dramatically increase organically over the next two years. My engagement levels have improved to between 45% and 50%, and my following has climbed by 75%. I also had the honor of co-hosting Preeminent Radio, which led me to be nominated as fans choice for 2022 Hip Hop Fraternity Awards. That allowed me to participate in a few comedy tours, which enabled me to transition from open mics to paid gigs. One specific opportunity that helped me establish my career was hosting an award event, which allowed me to connect with other industry creatives, entertainers, and leaders. To summarize, my goals are to continue making an impression in my ATL zone through the refinement of this organic, unusual, yet honest approach to entertainment. I will always be indebted to my native country, South Sudan, and to my colleagues!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am extremely proud of who I am today, because the harshest critic you will ever encounter is yourself. What has distinguished me in many of the circles and spaces I’ve been a part of is that, while I do have a physical deformity, I’ve chosen to live a life undefined by it. I refused to succumb to the cliches, stereotypes, and self-doubt that have plagued me since my youth. I was constantly told that I couldn’t do this or that. I frequently felt overlooked, and so I took it upon myself to use that feeling to overcome my fears and insecurities in order to better myself and those around me. That is why I admire the art of comedy, as laughter is a potent form of healing and a universal language of love. For me, comedy has served as therapy; if I can make light of my situation, perhaps you will feel better about yours. The reason I am driven to bring authenticity and uniqueness to my platforms is to demonstrate to others that with dedication, perseverance, and self-acceptance, following your dream is not impossible. I’m committed to breaking unhealthy cycles, which must begin with you. For instance, you can begin by setting small, attainable goals for yourself, and as you overcome obstacles, you’ll eventually discover your path. Indeed, I’m most excited about my podcast, “Healing Through Progress,” because it’s here that I delve deeply into topics like acceptance and love, as well as encourage people to embrace their uniqueness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To begin, you must purchase some delicious food from one of the area’s food trucks. If you want a taste of southern hospitality, you must begin with the food. It is here that you will have the opportunity to sample authentic soul food, where you can find love, peace, and respect all on one plate. This would begin with a 4:00 a.m. stop at Waffle House, followed by a historic tour of Civil Rights leaders, a visit to the Trap Museum, Tyler Perry Studios, and Coca-Cola Factory, and concluding with the botanical gardens’ mesmerizing experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To begin, I’d like to express my gratitude to two of the best mothers anyone could ask for. All of this would not be possible without them and their sacrifices. That is something I will never be able to repay, and for that I am eternally grateful. To my father, Biel Tutdeal, who was a village chief/king and who sacrificed so much for me by never abandoning me or giving up on me. Despite his untimely demise, his legacy has inspired me to do everything possible to become the man he believed I was capable of becoming. My grandmother, who has also died, was my rock, the family’s backbone, and a pillar in the South Sudanese community. She was the conduit for generational wisdom, folk tales, and stories, as she was a genuine source of my culture. There have been numerous influential people in my life throughout my journey, and I cannot forget Pastor Richie, Adam Sieff, Jacob Yien, Bafo Joseph, my True Religion Crew Family, Java, Thakuach, and Dilang. Mabil Duir, I’m sure you’re smiling proudly as you watch over us
