We had the good fortune of connecting with Tabitha Caver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tabitha, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I first started my entrepreneurial journey I thought I had it all figured out, especially as a mom and wife. I was confident that the “work life balance” I had on paper was just the right fit. What I quickly learned was that I not only needed to adjust my mindset towards what “work life balance” meant for me but also learn that what works for other people does necessarily mean for me. My work life balance is no balancing act at all. My work life rhythm is how I move through different levels and seasons of my faith, family, and business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
With the name First Lady of Real Estate and the integrity in which I run my business, you are bound to set yourself apart. I own my own real estate company where I assist clients with their real estate needs as well as run a successful construction and design company that renovate and remodel investment properties/portfolios. I am most excited about this new chapter of helping other real estate agents become successful through teaching, training, and speaking. My brand has also been doing good, honest, and ethical business. I want the world to know that and experience that. Having consistency, integrity, good business practices & systems, and great people will always allow you the best opportunities to grow and scale in business. Even with all this in place and it’s very important that you do, perhaps what will allow others to help them is that I came from nothing, no silver spoon or trust fund. I was given away by my father and taken away from my mother. Raised in foster care and later adopted. Through it all, I have not let my circumstances, environment, and past experiences shape my mindset. No longer do I feel unloved and unwanted. I know that I was created to live on purpose and for purpose. The best part is, there are so many others who can identify and relate. We are called to be examples and inspiration to the world. The best days are ahead!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Come and hangout with me for a week and we are doing it all! From spa days at Château élan to axe throwing there is something for every mood. The most fun is eating and touring the best upscale and hole in the wall restaurants throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Top Spots to visit on the itinerary is one of my favorite go to spots to get some good ol’ BBQ at Fox Bros BBQ. After some good eating we would have to walk the belt line to feel like we haven’t totally sabotaged our sweat sessions at Perspire. I would definitely make time for fun and games with adult bowling, axe throwing, at miniature golf at Putt Shack. You can’t leave with visiting Ponce City Market and The Battery for shipping, networking, good company, and great food!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There has been a few very special people in my life who I would love to shout out. However there one who undoubtedly deserves the recognition and honor of this shoutout. That person is my best friend and I also have the privilege of calling him husband. Quincy Caver aka Mr. Good Steward is without question the one who has been my biggest supporter, encourager, investor, and prayer partner. Through the many ups and downs, valley and mountain top experiences, he has been a constant. The one who has been there for & with me.
