We had the good fortune of connecting with T. Necole Gibbs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi T. Necole, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is a part of everyday life. In insurance we call it hazards or perils. In business, we include it when we are creating business models and processes. In life, we call it challenges, unforeseen mishaps, and lessons. But Risk Management is how you prevent, deter, and prepare.

Working as a full-time Entrepreneur over the last four years, I have learned that risk (ready or not) is a part of the process. It’s an ambiguous term that means “what-if.” By having an open-mind and logical point-of-view, I took the stance in looking Risk in the Face and repeating out loud, “Everything I want and need for my life is on the other side of fear.”

See the thing about Risk, is, it’s really scary when you don’t know what you don’t know. It is willingly leaving comfort, in some cases, and trusting that you have everything you need to accomplish whatever you set out to accomplish. The one thing I know about Risk from working in the field for many years, is that you can protect yourself from it. That’s what being prepared means. When or if Risk does try to knock, having measures in place protects you from it. Through insurance, through mentorships, through guidance from those that support you, you can be protected from Risk.

As a part-time Financial Services Professional, we must have Errors & Omissions insurance. It is required of agents and brokers. This protects me if someone tries to sue me. Bernard Coleman Jr. Esq. has been my mentor since my senior year of undergrad. There has been breaks through the years, however, when we are consistent, I gain a ton of gems and wisdom on everything business and metaphysical. Bringing value to the roles that I show up in to assist businesses, brands, and people, I pride myself on providing quality products and/or services. Value creates trust in my business relationships. I have a great support system that will think of me when they are purchasing some of the necessities of life. This keeps me in business.

I will never know if I don’t try…is one of the reasons, I made the decision to quit my job back in 2018.

This was one of the biggest decisions I made in my life and it was a huge risk because it threatened the security of my livelihood. I was prepared for this risk, because I was paid a pretty substantial amount to help develop and operate a new business in the Atlanta area. The freedom Entrepreneurship gave me, was exactly what I needed to be creative and work in spaces where my work was appreciated and compensated well. If I didn’t accept that there would be risk and unforeseen challenges, I would never know my capabilities, my strengths, or my weaknesses. As an Entrepreneur, most days I feel like a warrior doing what I was created to contribute to this world. Some days though, I feel like what in the world have I gotten myself into???

But through it all I persevere, I remain consistent, I show up, and it always works out. Whether it be an unexpected client that wants more services, or a project that will keep my business thriving.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Multiple Streams of Income is essential for entrepreneurs. I own and operate several successful businesses. As a Consultant and Digital Strategist, I help individuals, entrepreneurs, and brands with digital marketing and financial consulting. What sets me apart from others is my ability to problem solve and present solutions. As a part-time Professional Financial Consultant, I help individuals (teachers specifically) with Retirement Planning Options. As a Digital Strategist, I am a copywriter that create content and Sales Copy for businesses to market and sell their products and/or services. Although I love every aspect of business, I love creating words that sell. I am most proud of a current project called Sacred Sistahs. It is a space for like-minded individuals who are interested in Emotional Wellness and Spiritual Growth. I got where I am today by being super focused and tenacious. It wasn’t easy but understanding that challenges are a part of the process, I overcame them by being brave and fearless. I never gave up on making entrepreneurship a reality to me. I will not die with any regrets. Some lessons I learned along the way is to always be open-minded, continue to learn something new, and change is inevitable. Everyone has a story to tell and my story is still being written. The vision of my business is to be the strength to the weaknesses of brands, businesses, and entrepreneurs. Everyone who gets into business, their ultimate goal is to have massive revenue growth, sales, and repeat customers. I help them reach this goal.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So a whole week in Atlanta is not enough time to see the city. But let’s say it’s, Spring Break and I have a week to hangout with my bestie. Monday would be the official “Welcome to the A” with breakfast at Gochas. This is one of the most coveted breakfast/brunch spots in Atlanta. Next, without passing go or collecting two hundred dollars, we would head straight to Phipps and Lenox Mall. You can’t come to Atlanta without visiting Buckhead. It’s a staple and one of the places everyone wants to visit. Once shopping is all done, we would have lunch at True Food which is adjacent to the mall. It’s a perfect, delightful pitstop to recap and people watch. It also has a really cool vibe. Later that night, just because it’s Monday, we would have to go to Magic City without him requesting to go. Tourist cannot come to Atlanta without visiting a strip club…it is definitely a must.

Turning up on a Tuesday would be the motto for this particular Tuesday. Another favorite breakfast/brunch spot we would hit is The Real Milk & Honey. Mimosas and Bellini’s would be the focus, but the honey biscuits would soak up the alcohol. After a cool little brunch date, we would head over to Atlantic Station because your trip is not a trip without stopping in Midtown. Because I know this week is going to be super lit, this is ideal for walking and doing a little more shopping. Before getting a much deserved nap before the night festivities, we would have to swing by Billy and Tasha’s JR Cricket Briarcliff for some flavored wings! Those wings are torch!!!! JR Crickets is franchise staple and one of the best wing joints in Atlanta. Later that night, we would probably hit The Rose Bar just because it’s Tuesday and KBotchey and his friends may just have a section.

Waking up to Wednesday, brunch would have to be at The Flying Biscuit. Its an oldie but a goodie when it comes to a foodie. The Roswell Road location is my favorite because Perimeter Mall is right down the street. After suggesting he try the infamous Salmon Scramble dish, we would head over to Nordstrom and explore some of the newer stores in the mall. My thought is to constantly hit the malls, so I can exercise! To keep this Spring Break rendezvous interesting, we would head over to the Camp Creek area to Lush Nails, so we could get pedicures. Rose is the best and she just knows how to make a girl feel sooo peaceful. After a nice relaxing pedicure, later that evening, I would keep it simple and take him to the UBar. They have some really great dishes, hookah and happy hour. You can never go wrong with Pitchers of Margaritas for ten bucks. Its a ghetto vibe but its a place you can chill and listen to some great hip hop and classic RnB.

So by the time Thursday gets here, I am ready to slow it down so we can pick it back up for Friday and Saturday. Breakfast Boys would be first on the agenda for brunch. Its a cute little quaint spot in East Point and with one of the owners being from Charleston, SC, their dishes are unique, flavorful, soulful and very tasty. Depending on the weather, we would sit out on the patio to catch a breeze and drink Mimosas. Its just something about those flute glasses filled with champagne that does something to me! Ensuring that we are not late for the Spa appointment at the 4 Seasons on 14th Street, we make it to our massages and relax with a much needed rub down. After the massages, we would hit Bar Magot for drinks and a late lunch. This is one of Atlanta’s best kept secrets. I have met and seen so many popular-influential people in this spot that its essential for people who network. Although my BFF is not the networking type, he would enjoy this spot because it’s quaint and has rich energy and wealthy vibes. Speaking of networking, I am sure MBP (Music Business Politics) is hosting an event at Tribecca Restaurant or Soigné Garden Restaurant. Once I check my email to see if we need an RSVP or where the event is, that’s where we would head. I’ve met Mayors, Music Managers, Artist, and many of the who’s who at these networking events. This would also give my friend a small glimpse of how I roll.

Friday is one of my favorite F words and TGIF is how I greet everyone on IG. Sleeping in late, our first spot would be Spondividits for a late lunch. This is another oldie but goodie if seafood is your thing. Although it looks like a hole in the wall, the drinks and food are always worth the wait. Feeling like my friend would need to see Chastain or Piedmont Park, I would ask him which park and we would drive there and walk the heavy garlic butter off that I just consumed from my Lobster and Crab bucket. Because it feels like a Seafood type of day, we would end up at Pappadeux for dinner. Can’t you tell I love seafood?

Saturday, would be more of a chill day. Instead of driving to Chateau Elan, we would take the drive to Montaluce Winery and make an entire day of wine tasting and lunch. With this spot only being about an hour away from the city, its the perfect quick getaway to all things grown and sexy.

Sunday being the last day, I would have to end it at Sage Woodfire Grill for their famous brunch and $3 Mimosas. Counting down the minute until he leaves because I know I would be super exhausted, concealer is a life saver at this point.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So I want to give a huge Shoutout to Iyanla Vanzant. When I was 18 years old, I read “Yesterday I Cried” and that book changed my life. After reading how transparent she was with her life, the life lessons not only gave insight and in depth wisdom, but it helped me in one of the most challenging times of my life. I went out and purchased everything Iyanla Vanzant ever wrote which included this meditation book called “Acts of Faith” and in many ways it helped me to create healthy boundaries and structure in my personal and professional life.
