We had the good fortune of connecting with Synthia Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Synthia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ethnicity by Cjones is a brand designed for ALL. Created to embrace the unique attributes within all Ethnicities, while providing affordable luxury products. Our mission and vision were clear from the very beginning. We want to Break Barriers and Build Bonds all while embracing the ETHNICITY we all were born with. Past society has caused most to believe that a person’s DNA mockup should define how they deserve to be treated, and sadly what resources they deserve to have as well. Ethnicity By Cjones everyday mission is to showcase that ETHNICITIES are not just about your skin color rather the uniqueness, talent, and beauty within all. Many of our products offer hidden facts and pay homage to different countries and cities as a way to spread the word across the globe that we are all great. Our products are supported by many different backgrounds, therefore we take that as a good sign that our mission is accepted and continuing to grow.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Business wise as you know I am the owner of Ethnicity By Cjones. I started this company in 2018 and since then I have expanded to numerous retailers such as Walmart USA, Walmart Canada, Amazon, Wayfair, Wayfair Canada, Etsy, and Kroger’s Market Wagon. Retailers are a blessing; however, I love the local support we receive from citywide events. Nothing brings more joy than being face-to-face with a customer. The laughs, conversations, feedback, and all. My goal is to become a household brand that generations to come will recognize.
Some of the products I offer are Luxury Candles which are non-toxic and clean burning. I love everything about candles. I use them for meditation, healing practices, or just simply house cleaning. One of my favorite candles is my Unapologetic candle. The scent is amazing. Not only does it smell good, but it also provides an uplifting, positive aura. You will truly feel unapologetic once you burn it lol. Aside of candles I offer eco-friendly, chemical free body care such as body butters, scrubs, soaps, and hair oils. Most would say oh that sounds like a bunch of girly stuff, but no worries I have created a line just for beards. I didn’t leave you beard lovers out. It is a line I worked on for quite some time to perfect it. I am just a girl that loves beards. I make beard butters, balms, and oils. It is truly one of my best creations. I remember when all of this was just a dream. I used to say to myself how nice it would be to have the creativity I saw in others. Manifestation is real, the Universe will bless you with talents you never thought you could ever achieve. I have been so blessed to be able to handmake every product through love. When you set your intentions with the right mindset, all greatness is possible.
Now professionally, what most don’t know about me is that I am an Air Force veteran which led me into the current career I have now with Immigration. I’ve always had a passion to connect with different people across the world. I take pride in what I do, and it has earned me much respect and recognition. In 2019 I received The Directors Award which is one of the highest achievable nationwide awards that one could obtain. There’s never too much to do in this world. Aside of Ethnicity and my full-time career I also practice real estate here in Georgia as a licensed agent. I love everything about real estate. You really get a clear understanding of what the world offers whether its residential, commercial, and even abroad.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I consider myself to be a world traveler. Traveling is my remedy to life. People laugh when I tell them taking a trip can get me out the house faster than anything else. Although I’m from Chicago, Atlanta has been very good to me. I love all that it has to offer. The people are some of the most beautiful, humble, and driven I’ve met thus far. There’s never a dull night or day here. So if a friend or friends were to come visit me which they have I would take them to a few of my favorite treasures. First, I would have to take them to the MLK King Center. I find it slightly rude to come to Atlanta and not pay homage to one of greatest advocates. I like to get the educational stops out the way first lol. Next pick would be the High Museum of Art, I absolutely love it there and depending on the day of the week they have the most lavish after-hours events to partake in. Next stop would be the West End. It’s one those historical hidden gems. You can find vegan restaurants, cultural shops, parks, and my go to natural and holistic grocery store Sevananda that is truly community based and also depending on the day of the month you may run into a pretty nice festival like Malcolm X day festival. It’s truly a gem and if you want to dive a little deeper there are health-conscious meet ups, yoga, and classes that teach about different backgrounds of history. Alright now that we’ve learned a bit lets grab a bite to eat. When it comes to good food I don’t discriminate. Atlanta is such a large area, therefore you have to base your appetite on what side of town you have a taste for. You can find great restaurants like Rumi’s (yes like the poet) in central and North Atlanta. It’s one of my favorite restaurants that offer Persian dishes. I also love seafood so i would take my friends & fam on a nite out to Spondivits which is one of Atlanta’s historic seafood restaurants. Don’t worry about rushing because they stay open way past the midnight hours. The list goes on when it comes to great food and entertainment. How can I forget the iconic Ponce City Market. I absolutely love it there. They have eateries, bars, walking trails known as the Atlanta Beltine. If your looking to get your miles in with great scenery it’s the place to be. If you are in town on a weekend you can catch some awesome vendors such as myself showcasing our brand. Since there are so many great places to names Ive listed a few for future reference.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I live by the code of gratitude is my attitude. I am very grateful for everyone in my life that support, motivate, and impact me in a positive way. The list would be endless; however, I consider them all to be family and friends. I am also a firm believer that behind this physical realm of life, our spiritual world plays a key part in our success. Our spirit- guides, ancestors, and the creator of this world help, protect, and ultimately allows our desires to manifest.
Remember to set your intentions and let the Universe do it’s work-Synthia
