We had the good fortune of connecting with Symone Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Symone, every day, we ask about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for my business when I realized how many illnesses are a direct result of eating habits and the quality of the food we eat. I concluded from the clients, friends and family that I talked to that most people do not eat healthy because they are worried about cost, taste and satisfaction. I figured if I can satisfy the appetite, keep food affordable and create amazing flavor combinations I could encourage people to eat foods that heal the body instead of deteriorate it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Food Pear is revolutionary because it is the only companies to not only serve reiki infused holistic foods but to teach communities how to create their own holistic meals. The biggest challenge is getting people to really understand the urgency behind the cause. Eating holistically is not a luxury or a choice it is imperative for a fully functioning body and a fulfilling life. I want the world to know that Food Pear is here to set the standard for holistic eating in the black community and this is just the beginning.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly I’ve done so much on my own I’m shouting myself out for doing all of the work on my own! Not to be selfish, that’s just the fact of the matter. I hope to open up and receive more help in the future.
