We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sydney, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Keep going when you want to give up. Don’t give up because when you keep going and stay consistent the rewards are amazing and feel so great. My mental, physical, and emotional wellness is important when I feel like giving up and so when I feel that way I just focus on improving those three wellness areas. That always helps with what goes on with running my business and also working full time. There is always a light at the end of a tunnel so maintaining a positive mindset throughout difficult, uneasy, and maybe hard times is what is going to propel you, as well as me, to keep going.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe in my ideas and knew always that something would stick whether it was my business first or an executive position at a company doing what I love; which is marketing. I always knew that no matter which came first I was going to do both. However, one was going to have to come before the other. For my mental and emotional wellness it ‘s better that way. I worked on my business some and did okay for a few years. I knew I wanted to make more money and sharpen my skillset. I started interviewing with companies looking for the right fit in culture, work, and longevity goal wise. I am currently the Digital Marketing Sales Manager for a finance company in the payment solutions space. I am able to execute my ideas for the betterment of the company in marketing and sales. I love it! I enjoy coming into work and setting the goals for the month and sharing what I think is best for the company and setting the bar. I do plan on taking my own business involvement to the next level this Summer and hope to see the fruits of my labor from the growth and preparation leading to this moment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to Chateau Elan Winery and Spa and we’d spend our time enjoying their wine and wine tasting, food, and spa services. I would go to the Holiday Marina to spend some time on the jet skis or take the boat out and enjoy the sun and good weather. If we’re not satisfied by that we’d head to 5 Church Atlanta. I loved the food atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking to try something new and exciting.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I spent my time at university getting involved in organizations, learning about business, starting companies, loosing business, failing classes and exceling at some, starting my own clubs and working multiple jobs. I had a wonderful journey but nonetheless my time with Enactus changed my life and inspired me to insert myself into a room full of executives and deserving attention, recognition, and acknowledgement for the hard work that I put in. Enactus is an entrepreneurial organization that teaches students how to turn successful projects into sustainable and profitable businesses. I learned so much and felt so rewarded after being selected to speak and present business plans to Fortune 500 execs.
