Hi Suvwe, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For me, the most important factor behind my success and the success of 29Thirty Inc. is undoubtedly the incredible support system of my family and intentional friendships. From the very beginning, my family and friends have been my unwavering pillars, providing invaluable help, encouragement, and belief in my vision. They’ve truly been instrumental in bringing the essence of 29Thirty Inc. to life and helping me share it with others.

Beyond that personal support, the core concept of 29Thirty Inc. itself is deeply rooted in the importance of intentional connection. I’m a firm believer in cultivating meaningful friendships and surrounding yourself with people who uplift and support you. This belief directly shaped the foundation of 29Thirty.

The studio was designed to be more than just a place to make products; it’s a space where people can come together, connect on a deeper level, and foster those kinds of intentional friendships. The DIY activities we offer – whether it’s crafting body butters, candles, or scrubs – serve as a catalyst for shared experiences and provide a comfortable backdrop for both lighthearted and meaningful conversations, even those that might be a little uncomfortable. Ultimately, the success of 29Thirty Inc. is intertwined with the power of human connection and the intentional creation of those bonds.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
29Thirty Inc. is more than just a studio; it’s a deliberately crafted space centered around intentionality. We aim to be an oasis from the everyday noise, a place where people can connect authentically, have meaningful conversations, and create lasting memories together. Our studio offers an open, clean, and luxurious environment where individuals can indulge in experiences that promote well-being and the finer things in life – from handcrafting personalized candles and body butters to blending custom perfumes.

What truly sets us apart is this focus on intentionality, extending beyond the products themselves to the connections forged within our space. We’re most proud of creating an environment where people feel comfortable being present and engaging with themselves and others in a genuine way.

The journey to where we are today, with our beautiful storefront right across the street from Ponce City Market, has been anything but easy. The initial seed for 29Thirty Inc. was planted in 2021, born out of a desire to offer more meaningful and useful souvenirs, particularly within the wedding industry. We recognized the challenge of giving guests something they would truly appreciate and use. This led to the concept of our mobile DIY carts – bringing the experience directly to events and empowering guests with the gift of choice. Imagine a cart where guests could create their own candles or body butters, selecting their preferred fragrances and ingredients, ensuring they left with a favor they genuinely desired.

This mobile concept was the foundation upon which the dream of a physical storefront was built. We envisioned a dedicated space to further cultivate this sense of community and creativity. Overcoming the challenges of launching and growing a business, especially with a unique concept, has required immense dedication, perseverance, and a lot of faith. There have been countless hurdles, from logistical complexities to building brand awareness. The unwavering support of my family and friends has been absolutely crucial in navigating these challenges.

One of the most significant lessons I’ve learned is the importance of staying true to our core values and the ‘why’ behind 29Thirty Inc. – that intentionality and genuine connection resonate deeply with people. We’re not just selling products or experiences; we’re fostering moments.

Ultimately, what I want you to know about 29Thirty Inc. and our story is that it’s a testament to the power of intention and the desire for authentic connection. We’re incredibly excited about this new chapter with our storefront, and we give all the glory to God for helping us bring this vision to life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Okay, for a summary of showing my best friend a good time in Atlanta, it would start with an energizing boot camp at EFFECT Fitness, especially if my trainer Reggie Ball was leading. That would be followed by a delicious brunch at one of my favorite spots, like Toast on Lenox. We’d then spend the afternoon exploring both Piedmont Park and the BeltLine, stopping for cocktails at a cute restaurant along the way. The evening would be dedicated to a relaxed and intentional time back at 29Thirty Inc., where we could make products together – candles, scrubs, perfumes, or body butters – while enjoying some wine and catching up. It’s all about good company, good vibes, and creating meaningful moments.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh, without a doubt, my husband and my two daughters deserve the lion’s share of credit in my story. They are truly my everything. My husband was my very first investor; he believed in this vision from the outset, even before it was fully formed in my own mind. He didn’t hesitate – he just said, ‘Here, take this money to buy the products and make it happen.’ That initial act of faith and financial support was absolutely pivotal.

And with having our two beautiful daughters, both under the age of two, the journey of launching and running 29Thirty Inc. has come with its own set of unique challenges. My husband has been an absolute angel on Earth. He’s stepped up in countless ways, often having to be there more for our girls than I could be at times, especially in the early days of getting the store off the ground and ensuring our online orders were fulfilled. His unwavering support, his belief in me, and the sacrifices he’s made to help balance our family life while I pursue this dream… I honestly couldn’t have done any of this without him. He’s been my rock, my biggest cheerleader, and the most incredible partner.
