Meet Sunisa Kim | Yoga Teacher and Model/TV Presenter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sunisa Kim and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sunisa, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work life balance is a huge part for me, it has changed, now, after I had my baby boy, he’s now 16 months and it’s been very challenging to keep the balance between my business and my baby. The good thing of teaching yoga, I can be very flexible with my schedule and still have enough time to be a mom.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
You have to love to teach, especially in Yoga, it’s not about you anymore, it’s about compassionate services to yourself and others. While I teach part time, I’m continuing my creative side, in going back to modeling and TV appearances. I have not make the connection yet, with having past experiences in the entertainment industry, I hope to go into it real soon. It’s going to be a journey getting back into it, it’s been 6 years since I’ve gone in hiatus with the entertainment side of work, however teaching yoga keeps me in the public eye and active. In addition to these two work, I’m also a reiki healer, with that I use my healing in crafting custom crystal mala beads, which is a meditation necklace and tool to help others stay present in their meditation practice. Not that it is a beautiful piece of jewelry to wear with intentions. Balancing all this, I am committed to be fully present in being a mom while striving through my career goals.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m such a home body, when my friends would come into town, their first stop would be my home, it’s a comfortable traditional Georgian home and then we would drive or hike up the Kennesaw Mountains to the top to see the view, after we would hit Marietta Square for food and drinks and check mark the history, go into Atlanta and be touristic for the day, and then to Savannah for more of a true southern feel and arts and circle back to home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Sean Kipe, he’s been my biggest support system especially when we both became parents. He has helped me balance my career and being a mom.
