We had the good fortune of connecting with Sumer Edwards-Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sumer, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and that of my brand is the ability to show up authentically and transparent as a Global Kingdom Brand. This make it relevant and relatable while breaking the mindset of business and ministry being separate entities.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a Christian Life & Trauma Informed Coach, I have been able to uniquely marry biblical principles and coaching methods to help and empower women to heal from various types of trauma. I’m most proud of the impact I’ve had on the lives of many. Being a survivor of trauma and able to provide different methods and techniques that has evidently worked for my clients is a great accomplishment form me. When I think about what makes me different, I feel confident to say that the programs, strategies and techniques given to my clients aren’t one you would find in a book. Rather, influenced by the Holy Spirit and built upon life experiences.

If I am to be honest, business was nowhere on my radar. My desire was to be an educator or a nurse. While I taught for many years, in 2021 I left my job for an opportunity that was presented to me to migrate to the US. When I got there it was nothing that was promised. Causing me to leave to return home within six months after giving up everything. In March of 2022, I returned to Trinidad starting over from scratch with my family. Frustrated at the point in time, I went into a time of prayer and sought the Lord on my next move. It was in that season, my SEW Global Limited was birthed. Where, I was let to impact lives, influence decisions and ignite purpose by monetizing what I had been doing for years. This included Christian Counselling, Motivational Speaking, Personal & Professional Development Training and Coaching in the areas of Christian Life and Trauma.

It was no easy task as I was convinced throughout my life that business was not ‘my thing’. However, I can safely say this was more a mental block as opposed to my ability and calling. My first client proved to me that I was more than able and along the way, I sought help through, coaches, marketing and brand strategist as well as other experts.

Five things I learned along the way:

1. Trauma can affect your business ideas, development and operations.
2. Seeking help does not mean that you’re not good enough.
3. God knows you more that you know yourself, so trust Him.
4, Invest in a coach
5. Discipline is key for business success.

I would like the world to know that showing up as a healed version of yourself is the best way to serve. I’ve been very transparent about my life which has help with relatability, creditability and service. I would like to be know as that woman who empowered others to heal well so that they can serve well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Credit goes to my Husband, Terrance Williams and Children ( Samiyah, Ty and Chelsea) for allowing me to serve others with my gifts and talents through business. Also, to the members of my ministry Fresh Oil Ministries (Trinidad) and my supporters throughout the years. Special thanks also to my coach Crystal Daye and my mentors Apostle Demontae Edmonds, Apostle Joanne Blake-Bisoon and my Dad Joseph Edwards.
