We had the good fortune of connecting with Suchet Pierre Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Suchet Pierre, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For as long as I can remember and more specifically during my undgradute studies at GSU, I wanted to be an entrepreneur. The freedom from owning and operating a business is a passion that I can not describe. And I believe it’s the strongest pathway to success. When the idea of Laced Fashions came to me I envisioned a company that ecompases 5 core values. Those values are Leadership, Achievement, Consistency, Excellence and Dedication. I firmly believe that if a person, company, entity masters these core values that they will with certainty become successful. Laced Fashions and Footwear LLC helps me to achieve that vision.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The name of my company is Laced Fashions and Footwear llc., founded in 2016. We are a fashion retailer with a brick and mortar store in Metro Atlanta. L.A.C.E.D stands for Leadership is Achieved thru Consistency Excellence and Dedication. We believe if a person possesses all of these characteristics they will be successful. We express that vision through our fashion and footwear. Our mission is to get the world Laced Up.
I am most excited about what my company stands for. To create a leadership brand is very important to me. I pride myself on leading by example and to create this means the world to me. I always live by this motto,”Success is not a destination, Success is a journey”. Getting to this point was not easy. I have been through so many ups and downs however I stayed the course and I have reached new heights all because I believed in myself.
Some valuable lessons I have learned along my journey have been discipline, work ethic, and innovation. The reason I say discipline is because when I first started in 2016 I wasn’t as focused on the company’s long term growth so I took more risk and as a result took more failures. Now in year 5 I understand how to plan and prepare for the future. I take more calculated business risk and will do the same going forward. Work ethic speaks for itself. You must learn to create and harness a good work ethic. Even if the days look grim you must be consistent with your work ethic. Lastly, innovation is so important. The business world is always changing and to be competitive and relevant your company must always look to do things differently. A company should practice the ability to change with the times to ensure longevity.
