We had the good fortune of connecting with Stuart McClean and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stuart, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Inertia’s Root started on the principle of risk tasking. The cannabis industry is a volatile business, and when I decided to leave corporate America for good in order to chase my dreams, it was a considerable risk. Shortly after starting the company, my first child was born. At this point, I found myself at a crossroad, and my next move had to be my best move. I decided to take a leap of faith and risk my family’s future and sustainability on myself. The first two years were challenging, but we managed to find some success and raise some funding but in the third year, COVID-19 flipped our business on its head and left us scrambling to figure it out. The commitment to the brand and our ability to pivot has allowed our amazing team to overcome some very challenging times. We are very fortunate to have a thriving business during a time of such uncertainty. There is no reward without risk. Go big or go home!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
About Us Inertia’s Root is a vertically integrated manufacturing & logistics company that services the cannabis industry. We specialize in cultivation, post-harvest processing, and product manufacturing. As a retailer, we offer the virtual collective & supply store at inertiasroot.com. Additional services include consulting and Brand development. Developing our brand took a ton of late nights, failure, and lots of risks. We are most proud of our growth and expansion into medical cannabis as we will service Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The key to our success is an unwavering commitment to the brand and a ton of late nights. This journey has been one of the most challenging feats of our lives, and the biggest lesson we’ve learned is to never give up and trust your ntuition to lead you in the right direction. The thing that separates us from other brands is our commitment to our customer’s needs. We provide one-on-one support and we also help you tailor-fit cannabis as apart of your health & wellness regime. The Inertia’s Root line of products is always locally soucred and handcrafted with Organic ingredients. Finally, we offer a turn-key manufacturing solution to farmers, existing businesses, and start-ups. Please visit our website and complete an application form if you’re interested in any of our services.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The city has so many great things to offer I would recommend renting a bike and checking out the beltline. Civil Rights Museum, Trap Museum, Ponce Market, Peter’s Street for nightlife. As far as restaurants go, I would recommend Highland Bakery, Thumbs Up Diner Edgewood, Louisiana Bistreaux, Sluty Vegan, Rathbun’s or Kevin Rathbun Steak, Copelands of New Orleans, and Jr Crickets wings.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would first like to thank my grandfather Lowell for encouraging me to read a book entitled ” Think & Grow Rich” By Napoleon Hill. That book provided countless tools I use daily. I want to thank my amazing wife Leah for always being my support system. The most important piece to our success is the team we have assembled. I would like to thank Chase, Chris, Grady, Theo, Gary, and our graphic designer Saul these gentlemen have been the glue to hold inertia’s Root together. I want to thank both my parents for gifting me with an entrepreneurial spirit. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who has supported our brand, the day one fan, new customers, and platforms like Voyage, Shoutout, and Endo Insider for believing in us enough to feature us.
