We had the good fortune of connecting with Storm Ford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Storm, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Success, to me, is a matter of fulfillment which I believe I have been able to achieve because of my dedication to authenticity. Staying true to myself is what’s attracted all the people and opportunities that are moving my career and my life forward. I’ve learned that maintaining my integrity, artistically and personally, not only liberates myself but other creatives and everyday people to take up more room as themselves. that is the core of my brand. “See art. Be art. Make art.” -BE YOU! Be real. Be the difference you want to see in the world.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve spent a lot of time the past two years writing songs for others but I’m really excited to tap back into my artistry with this upcoming release, “21”. While writing this song it was hard to confess my all my fears and bad habits but the honesty is what makes this record special. Confronting those insecurities was the first step to overcoming them in real life . The next step is actually sharing it with you all. If you’ve ever been in your own way this song is for you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
By far the thing I look forward to the most here in ATL, is Beats and Ballads. To paint the picture, the event is a star studded open mic night curated by Daijah Ross, another talented songwriter. If you’ve actually been to one you know that its a safe space for all creatives to express themselves and show love to one another.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Id like to dedicate this shoutout to my teammates, Kyle Tildon and Naj Travis. They exceed the the expectations of management everyday. They remind me of why I do what I do in the moments where I don’t wanna do it anymore. Outside of the dreams we chase together, they are also the some of the hardest working people I’ve ever met. They inspire me to go after everything I want and then some.
