We had the good fortune of connecting with Stevon Lester and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stevon, how do you think about risk?
In the Fall of 2021, I found myself going through the motions at my office job. During this time, I was heartbroken, lost, and felt complacent. I felt as though I had the biggest chip on my shoulder but knew that I wanted to be a motivational speaker. I had an epiphany where God revealed that I would become a full-time motivational speaker by January 2022. By this time, I was already speaking but never made any real income from speaking. As I got closer to the end of the year, he would continue to remind me of his promise and reassure me that I should just trust him above all else. Safe to say, 2022 is here and I am blessed to work alongside one of the biggest motivational speakers in the industry and also plan to move to north Atlanta in a few months.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a motivational speaker, everyone has their own platform from which they speak on. I speak heavily on mindset. Understanding that everything literally begins in your mind and your life will change when your mindset changes. Overcoming your own thoughts in the midst of trials, challenges, and adversity is one of the hardest things that a human can ever do but, if you are able to overcome those hard times you will become unstoppable in any field of life.

Next, I speak on Discipline and Consistency. Understanding that these are two main components to achieving a mindset that will allow you to experience life on another level. My mentor Jeremy Anderson says it like this, “The most successful people are not the most talented, they are the most disciplined.” If you are able to overcome your mind in situations where you know that you don’t feel like putting forth your best effort, you will develop a lifestyle of true discipline.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First and foremost, I am from Marietta, Ga. I know, I know, I know… ” Marrieta, Ga is not Atlanta”. But I will gladly rep my city so shoutout to the 678! But I am personally more of a sports fan so I would want to hit all of the stadiums and just experience the game time for what they are. Hit a few key landmarks in the city of Atlanta and definitely end it off by finding some of the best BBQ or soul food in the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, without my lord and savior Jesus Christ I am nothing so huge shoutout to him. Next, I want to extend a shoutout to my family who has shown nothing but full support throughout this process. They have shown me that they truly do believe in me and what I can accomplish and one day it will all come together! Next, huge shoutout to my mentors, Jimmy Watts, Demarcus Smith, Jeremy Anderson, & Chris Crumpler for seeing something in me when I couldn’t even see it myself. There is still a ton of work to do but we are just getting started. Thank you to my close friends that have continued to push me, support me, and affirm me along the way. I would begin to name people but I don’t want to get in trouble for leaving anyone out ( but major shoutout to my guy Gio). Thank you to the Ice Cold Brothers of my esteemed Fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc for giving me one of my first opportunities to speak and recognize that this is my calling. Last but not least, a huge thank you to my girlfriend Faith who has been by my side this entire time. Your support has meant everything to me. I love you all.
