We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Suero Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Express Hair Care is all about assisting people with hair growth and healthy hair maintenance. No matter which hair texture/type you have, no matter your age, my products will find their way to a great home in need. I strive to be committed to keep creating products that are 100% chemical free. Chemicals not only damage the hair and scalp over time, but they also interfere with a person who is either battling a sickness or taking certain medications. I feel as if my products has helped numerous amounts of people, locally and nationally, in a way no other brand’s products has been able to achieve. I’ve helped customers who’s been fighting sicknesses that led to hair loss My products really works for them and they love it! It’s a delight to know that I’ve created extremely safe products that will continue to help people in need as well as boost their self-confidence.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I created Express Hair Care back in 2020. I’ve created hair products that promotes hair growth, moisture retention and overall a healthy hair/scalp journey. My products are significantly different than others that you’ve see on the shelves of your favorite stores. I say this because I only use 100% natural products in each one of my oils and gels. I don’t believe in placing chemicals onto the hair in order to achieve the best results. Best results comes from natural sources found on earth. I am dedicated to helping each one of my customers with the utmost respect and superb customer service.

When I was younger, I use to always play in either someone’s hair or style the doll’s hair. Hair has always been a passion of mine. It was my first job during high school and it took me through my adult years. With so many years under my belt in the hair industry, I thought it was time to make it official back in 2015 when I enrolled into cosmetology school to become a Master Cosmetologist. During the pandemic, while I was laid off from my workplace, I came up with the idea to continue to do what I love but be my own boss. I was tired of the regular jobs and I wanted to find something to do that I was passionate about. After hours and hours of research and funds that I really didn’t have, Express Hair Care was born. It was not an easy thing to do in regards to starting a small business from ground zero.

I’ve learned that life will throw you all sorts of curve balls. It’s up to you to knock them out the park. Meaning, never give, never get too overwhelmed where negative thoughts begin to take control and always, ALWAYS, listen and take heed to what the customers want.

Everyone should know that Express Hair Care is not only a brand, it’s an experience. It’s an experience that will change your life for the good. Express Hair Care products will provide you with that extra boost of confidence that you’ve always been wanting in life. When you’re having a great hair day, you are unstoppable and fearless. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok, so let me be quite frank. I am a home body. On occasion, I do like to step out into town. If my best friend was to visit me for a week long vacation, I believe I would make it a more of a relaxing trip than anything else. I love parks and Piedmont Park is my absolute favorite. We can start off on a walk just to catch up on life. We can later have a quick bite for brunch or lunch at Mary Mac’s Tea Room. And then later, since I am such a movie buff, we can catch a movie and a dinner at favorite type of venue, CineBistro. The rest of the week, we would just play it by ear. Most of time, we will be laughing, something I love doing, and sharing life’s stories.
