Meet Stephanie Nemeth Parker | Voice Actor & Audiobook Narrator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Nemeth Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was a stay-at-home mom and my children were getting older and not needing me as much. I’d always acted in theater and done voiceover work occasionally but hadn’t put any effort into it. When I realized that I could combine my passion for acting with voiceover in the form of audiobook and audio drama narration, I got excited and focused and haven’t looked back. In two years I’ve become an award-winning narrator and have narrated over 100 audiobooks. And I’m just getting started.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I loved acting in Los Angeles and Switzerland and being on the radio in college, but I really feel like I’ve come into my own doing voiceover and audiobooks. It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve started pursuing audiobooks and I feel like I’ve made some major gains being nominated for various awards and even winning a few. As for voiceovers, I feel quite lucky that my first voiceover job was a TV commercial for the Winter Olympics for Omega watches. And while I’ve done various voiceover jobs since then, I’m only now starting to really pursue other areas of voiceover. I have just been cast in a new TV series called Rider’s Rescues voicing an adorable puppy named Demi. It’s hard work being a freelance voiceover artist but at least I love it, and feel grateful every day that I get to do what I love.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many wonderful places to visit in Atlanta….where do you start? I might start with a visit to the Varsity for a fried peach pie, or if you have a sweet tooth, hit up a Krispie Kreme for one of their original donuts. (Can you tell I’m food-oriented?) Make sure to get a visit in to the World of Coca-Cola. And you can get a great traditional southern meal at Matthew’s Cafeteria in Tucker – breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Their sweet tea and banana pudding are to die for. If you’re into pinball machines and comic books and like to grab a drink and/or a meal in the process, there is always My Parent’s Basement in Avondale Estates. And for a great view of Atlanta, check out The Roof at Ponce City Market where you can grab a drink and relax. Finally, I think the Atlanta Botanical Gardens are highly underrated and quite lovely.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a Shoutout to my good friend Nicole Sage for starting me on this journey when I was only 17. She saw something in me that I was too scared to hope for and it motivated me to move to Los Angeles, where this whole journey began. Now she’s my publicist and runs her own firm Sage PR Consulting in Atlanta! I also had great coaches like Sean Pratt and J Michael Collins and accountability partners like Nikki Zakocs, John Pirhalla, Aven Shore and Amanda Stribling.
