We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie LaFai and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Artistic/Creative career is something I believe I was born with . I’ve always been drawn to the bright colors that represent Caribbean culture . Fashion . Art . Being a Libra I’m sure contributes to that .

With candle making , being able to blend creative scents and coming up with formulas and making something beautiful, gives me joy . It relaxes me . It is also something that came natural to me . I love dressing candles . Hearing women tell me that “Love Me Deeply” made them feel beautiful and feminine , or men tell me how “Kingdom” is the perfect final touch to their man cave , or how “Woo” helps them unwind after a long day is something you cannot put a price on . I’m curating beautiful scents that takes your mental to a new place . I love that for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Spiritual Promises currently focuses on well blended scented candles , nourishing body scrubs and sage smudge sticks . The thing that sets us apart would have to be the years of researching about different oils and scents and also just the natural love I have for all things that smell good . Because of that , I can take a basic popular scent and elevate it since I am familiar of what blends well and aromatherapy .

I got to where I am today by having patience . Learning to pace myself and not overwhelm not only me , but my customers . It wasn’t an easy thing to do . I’ve scaled back on items and also ideas just because I knew the timing wasn’t right or I was not fully ready to release something .

Not comparing myself to other brands is the biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way . Realizing that I’m not releasing items or scents just for the sake of releasing and Providing my customers with something different and of high quality is more important than being the most popular . That will come on it’s own .

I want the world to know that my products are bomb . My products are unique and I haven’t received a negative review thus far from customers who have taken a chance with my company , and you will be satisfied just the same !

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Please friend come when the weather gets warm !!! Lol .

Most of my friends are from the east coast . Philadelphia, NYC so showing them a different southern vibe would be exciting ..

Of course We would have to do the tourist attractions , MLK , Georgia aquarium and so on.

Then spend some time in nature . Hike Stone Mountain , Enjoy green space at Piedmont park then head over to Freeman Mills Park .

Taking them to a food truck park , Like Trinton Yards so they can relax and try different things would definitely be a stop we would have to make . We would have to go to Waffle House to get their official ATL Stamp of Approval . Sundial Restaurant, Pappadeaux and grab crab legs from Juicy Crab with the Juicy Special .

Donuts from Duck Donuts for breakfast. Frost Bistro and Spice House for some night life . Can’t forget to support our local ATL Dancers 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s hard to really give credit to just one person . My 3 major supporters would have to be Tania, Denasha & Xavier. From the beginning when I was nervous about quitting my job to start this business , I’ve received love and encouragement. The late night conversations that they listened too . The smell testers . The ones who kept a fire lit under my behind and most importantly … didn’t judge me for taking small breaks but reminded me to never quit . This shout out is to all 3 of them.
