Meet Stephanie Caver: Owner & Master Cosmetologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Caver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, what inspires you?
I believe that there are different points in our life where you/myself myself is inspired. At this point in my life I am inspired the most by the my awesome husband Edward, Sons Calvin & Tj, grand daughter Aubrey, family and the New Freinds and suite owners that work around me at Phenix Salon Suites Suwanee & Phenix Salon Suites Buford. Both facilities are owned by Mrs Karen Perry and Mrs Nicole Grot they also owned another Phenix in Johns Creek. They operate these suites based off of the model and franchise design of LA’s Own Gina Rivera whom aimed a to make sure the stylist are treated with the upmost respect and are always the happiest that they can. They go over beyond to make sure that all tenants that lease a suite are compatible, eager to please clients, professional and team players. This is so inspiring because I am surrounded by people the want the same things as I do without being malicious about it . We all want success for each and every one of us, Customer satisfaction, more education, to mentor each other and most of all we love on each other. We are never bias about what we do, how we do it, where we live, what we drive, how we dress as long as it is in a pleasantly form of expression. My clients inspire so much that it bring tears to mind eyes. We mentor each other, calm each other down, check each other when need to be checked and all of this while slaying their hair. My assistants with their young creativeness keeps me on my toes and in the loop with what the young people are looking for today. Makayla Finch my shampoo assistant, Apprentice & Braider, Makayla Hopkins does most of my Social media marketing. These two ladies don’t realize how much they have changed my life & career for the best and how much respect & trust I have for them both. Then there is English Simone of “Pretty Little Hair & The GG’s Band. This young lady grew up in one of my older salons over 15 years ago and pursued to be a stylist and now currently A Licensed Cosmetologist & Lease a chair as her own entity in the studio along side of me. It was an honor for her to even consider sharing a space with me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud of and excited about the name of my salon Gone Girl Hair Studio ( Yes the Movie). It reflects every thing about a small business ran by a entrepreneur women, with honor, respect, intelligence, artistic ways, creativeness, demanding and earning respect and striving to be one of the best. Set aside The little bit of craziness that was evolved, but I put it into my creativity. Lol. I really proud of the our team work and our bond inside of my suite I and the faculty. Our work is an extensions of us. As a service provider? I am the most proud of my ability to keep doing what I love and still love it after 23 years and it continues to get better Not one thing can really set me apart definitely since the Covid19 Pandemic, Because it is thousands of us that goes over and above a client. Working amongst 40 other amazing suite owners and I have learned from each room from many others and this is why I am forever evolving. I service every ethnicity and every type of hair care from Microlinks extensions to Color from relaxers to natural hair silk press. But I can definitely say that my clients look forward to coming to the salon not only for great hair care but for adult conversations they we all experience in our lives. And it is all non-bias. I’m mostly proud of Gone Girl Hair Studio because it was built from my heart and soul when I was told it wasn’t going to work.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh wow my home would be the temple where we start. My husband will grill, the normal crew of client and freinds would come and bring dishes and drinks & games, I would have Alexa sync all over the house playing old school and house music, Videos on the big screen tv playing, another room for the young adults under supervision to hang out in, the pop corn machine going and just laugher. This is something we do a lot it’s safe and we enjoy it the most. We would do this from house to house between us .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
