We had the good fortune of connecting with Stef Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stef, what principle do you value most?
I believe that sisterhood and being my sister’s keeper, is a very important principle and one that I live by. It is imperative that women, especially women in business, have a supportive circle of reliable, like minded, goal driven women in their corner. Not only do my sisters support me in networking, events and goals, but I reciprocate that same love and respect for them.

What should our readers know about your business?
My name is Stef Parker and I own The Goth Gardener LLC, The Winery at MoonLight Manor and the vegan wine label ‘Wikkid Eden”. I am an US Army OEF OIF combat veteran and the first woman of color to own a farm winery and have her own label in Georgia state history. When I began this journey of chasing a dream, I was not aware that I was also making history in my state. There were several challenges and setbacks, but I did not give up. I persevered with a positive mindset and willingness to work even harder. I am located in Lamar County GA. I have 14 TTB approved flavors of vegan wine. I perform wine tastings by reservation only, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday here at the winery. Being that I was so busy building and learning my first year in business, I am now finally able to celebrate my accomplishment. I will have my official ribbon cutting April 20 2023 and I’ll resume bookings for tastings on April 22, 2023. Wine Tastings are $20 per person, 750 ml fruit wines are $30, 750 ml grape wines are $40 and 4oz jars of fruit preserve are $10.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite things to do locally is visit the Lamar Arts Gallery and Depot. Its walls are lined with beautiful pieces of artwork created by local artists. They also have a gift shop where you can buy locally made pieces as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my cousin Keith Chambers (team never quit!), and my dear sisters Jeri Guyette, Lydia Davidson, Tracey Muise and Anastacia Holmes. I truly appreciate the love and support my tribe has given me while I’ve pursed my dreams and goals. I love you all dearly. Thank you!
