Meet Stebrina Kisingiri | Stebrina Kisingiri | Founder & CEO @ Kaki Kavod

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stebrina Kisingiri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stebrina, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
My most important lesson so far has been that failure is a stepping stone and not the end. So, embracing it and approaching it with a growth mindset is what changed my perception from seeing it as a failure to perceiving it as a learning moment. I have definitely had a lot of learning moments since I first started my business, and still do today. There were many days, weeks, and even months when sales seemed elusive, and my mind felt like a mushy mess; these moments tested my resolve, and I found myself questioning everything. It felt tempting to give up, to place my dreams back on the shelf, convinced that they were a mistake. But here’s the truth: these challenging times have been an integral part of my journey. They are the valleys that led me to the mountaintop. With renewed strength, I started climbing that hill once more, feeling more powerful with every step and I believe that the future is bright.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I’m not nurturing my new business, Kaki Kavod, I dedicate my nine-to-five hours to Delta Airlines as an analyst. The experience has been nothing short of transformative because it’s not just about honing my professional expertise, but it’s also a journey of self-discovery. I also have a passion for project-based work. Right now, I’m collaborating with the Holocaust Memorial Resource & Education Center of Florida on a student-centric conference, the Take Action Institute Conference, scheduled for this October.
To me, a fulfilling career isn’t just about personal growth; it’s also about giving back. Volunteering is a value I have held close to my heart since I was ten. From starting out at an orphanage to building homes with Habitat for Humanity in Uganda, empowering girls in Kenya with Akili Dada, teaching English in Guatemala, assisting uninsured individuals secure free healthcare in Florida, and cooking up meals at HOPE Atlanta – every moment has been precious and I’m eager to see where God guides me next in my journey of service.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend is on the path to graduating as a doctor in the Czech Republic, so when she visits me, I intend for it to be the grand holiday that she deserves.
I’d pick her up from the airport and drive her to our first stop – Decatur to get some food and ease her into this glorious city.
In the evening when it’s cooler, (avoiding the summer heat at all costs), we shall take a walk on the beltline and have dinner in one of the restaurants in the loft, ending the day with some nice boba tea.
The next morning, we shall take things slow and easy embracing all the vacation vibes, breakfast in bed etc and then later in the afternoon, since it is baseball season, we shall go watch the Braves hopefully kick ass at the Battery. Our dinner choice? Supercía, because who can resist their mouth-watering fried rice con frijoles?
We will also make time in the week to visit the museums, because art is life and as creatives, we enjoy the inspiration that art offers. , and because we are in midtown, we will have to grab lunch at Real Tacos in West Midtown and probably end the day at the Silverspot cinema where they have that mix of dinner and a movie which works the magic every time.
Over the weekend, we shall be engulfed in the festivals because Atlanta will always have a reason to have a steller music festival – which we love.
Before she ends her trip, I will definitely take her to the Outlet stores to do her summer shopping, grab lunch at Rumi’s Kitchen and end the day with bowling and send her off with some scrumptious cupcakes from Kupcakerie from East Point back to Prague.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow, I may need more space for this list, haha, but I’ll summarize it into five categories, if i can. First, my family. My parents and my sisters – yes all 5 of them have been my rock in this whole journey. They have witnessed the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into this business and my career growth. My dear partner who continues to support my crazy ideas and always pushes me to have an even bigger vision for not only my business, but my own personal life. My friends, especially my best friend who never stops pouring energy into me, not kidding, you wouldn’t be able to tell if I had a bad day after I got off the phone with her. My friends have been such a great support system. Last, and most importantly , God, because without continuous prayer and faith in Him, I would not be the woman I am today.
