We had the good fortune of connecting with Starnesha Rolle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Starnesha, do you have a budget?
Yes, I do have a budget. Managing personal finances is a priority for me, especially with a background in sales and now as a software engineer. I approach my budget with a strategic mindset, leveraging the financial skills developed during my sales career and the analytical thinking acquired in my current role.

I view personal finances as a tool for building a secure future for myself and my two daughters. I allocate funds for essential expenses, savings, and investments, with a focus on both short-term goals like daily needs and long-term objectives such as building a nest egg.

Considering the transition from a sales executive to a software engineer, I’m mindful of the financial adjustments that come with changes in income and career path. I regularly assess and reassess my budget to adapt to evolving circumstances and ensure financial stability.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to my mentors in the digital realm – the authors of ‘Atomic Habits’ and ‘The 12 Week Year,’ whose books have profoundly influenced my mindset on personal development and productivity.

To James Clear and the creators of ‘Atomic Habits,’ thank you for enlightening me on the power of small changes and habit formation. Your book has been my constant guide.

Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington, the minds behind ‘The 12 Week Year,’ your approach to goal-setting has revolutionized my productivity, urging me to focus on short, impactful sprints.

In the absence of a traditional mentor, I’ve found inspiration from various online platforms like YouTube, podcasts, and Reddit. These virtual mentors provide diverse perspectives and practical insights that complement the lessons from these books.

To the creators who share their experiences online – you are my mentors in the digital age. Thank you for being a source of wisdom and guidance.

Here’s to the transformative power of books, online content, and the collective wisdom shaping my journey. Grateful for the lessons learned from these diverse sources!
