We had the good fortune of connecting with Star Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Star, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create an experience that encompassed femininity and sisterhood. I think these two attributes are a lost art. As a woman I enjoy being pampered, and treated elegantly; I don’t believe I’m alone!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
A Queens Tea Party embraces the “soft era”. As women were often described as strong and while that is accurate – I want to foster the softer side! We are a photo tea party experience and we encourage our dress elegantly, and enjoy. Of course, take for gorgeous photos!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, her first stop would at QTP! We’d also schedule a day of pampering at the spa, we’d brunch at Toast on Lenox!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my beautiful mother and daughters!
