We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacia Tate and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think taking risks are essential because if you never try anything new, you will keep yourself boxed in. Risk taking is how you eventually find your purpose, or “calling”. Taking risks has played a huge part in both, my life and career. I do many different things that I never would’ve discovered if I wasn’t adventurous in my day to day decisions.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a podcaster, mental health professional, and business owner. What sets me apart from others is my enthusiasm to continuously learn more. I’m always looking for what I can do next, or do better to perfect my craft. I’m a “jack of all trades”, master of a lot. My reach is what I’m most excited about. I’m a health care professional first, so, I genuinely care about people’s well-being. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to travel and educate people of all ages about mental health and illnesses, as well as suicide prevention. With caring for people on a daily basis, I tend to neglect myself. I’m always put last, and I struggle with social anxiety so I have a hard time properly expressing myself and my feelings, so I decided to make a podcast. I think of it as a verbal diary; people just so happen to find my stories entertaining. My path isn’t easy, but I’m adamant about reaching my goals. I overcome my challenges by bouncing ideas off of my support system, believing in myself, and honestly, just taking risks by doing what I want. I live responsibly wild, if that makes sense. I do what I want and I won’t let anyone hold me back from being my true self, as long as the decision is reasonable-I follow through with it. I learned to listen to myself. People may have good intentions, but they can’t live your life for you. Whatever you want to do or achieve, you can do it. These visions, goals, and dreams weren’t put in your mind for nothing. One no is a closer step to a thousand yes’s! I want the world to know that you can’t box me in. I’ve been counted out so many times that I had to make my own number system, sort-of speak. My brand is still growing. I have a lot of things lined up, and I look forward to entertaining as well as educating you all along the way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in the city is my apartment! HAHA! Honestly, I don’t hang outside much in my leisure time. I have social anxiety, so I tend to mostly stay inside. However, it isn’t what we do, it’s how we do it!

I’ll cook breakfast (cheese eggs, french toast, cheese grits, and turkey sausage)
We’ll chitchat over the meal
Watch movies
Noon:
We’ll head to Tropical Smoothie, a healthy cafe that has mouth watering food, and fast amazing service with reasonable prices. A trip to the Galleria, in Hoover comes next!
After we leave the mall, we’ll relax at my place so I can charge my social meter.
Night:
I’ll cook dinner. (baked chicken, homemade baked macaroni, mashed potatoes, and Italian green beans)
If my friend just absolutely insists that we eat out, then we’d go to Dale’s Southern Grill, a delicious southern cuisine restaurant.
After dinner, we’re going home for the night.
At my place, we’d play various games while listening to music, and eat popcorn while we watch our favorite movies.
As far as the rest of the week, we’ll have to take it day by day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my mother who always shows me unconditional love and support; my brother, Zae who has a mental health outreach one-stop shop; my brother, Jayden who is always super honest with me and is an amazing digital art creator; and my best friends: Ja’Mesea, Stevie, and Kaihla who continuously push me to do better and hold me accountable. I also want to shoutout all of my musician friends! Ke’ng Suave, Wyze DaVinci, Arie, Phoenix, Bella Donna, K3yz Da Artist (who now has a podcast), and Sindy. I am so proud of you all!
