Meet Spicee Preistley | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Spicee Preistley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Spicee, how do you think about risk?
As a up and coming female artist my life is all about taking risks. About a year ago, I decided I wanted to brand myself as Spicee P. In the beginning, I was nervous about letting the world hear my voice and see my talents because I cherish my creativity so much. I knew if I didn’t act on putting my best foot forward, I wouldn’t get the recognition I knew I deserved. Without taking risks you can never fully know your full potential. Once I took the first risk, blessings started rolling in fast. I began to see more engagement which made me put myself and my standards on a bigger pedestal. My mind is limitless and I know that taking those risks will get me to where I want to be in life. To think back from where I first started to where I am now, motivates me to keep going to be the best me I can be. I’m always willing to take the risk because your success could be on the other side waiting for you to grab it. If I could sum it up to one sentence, Never be afraid of risks, just stay positive and expect the best outcome. You make your dreams a reality. It’s what I did.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since I was younger I always pictured myself performing on stage for millions of people. It took many trials for me to allow myself to let others hear and see that side of me. What a lot of people might not know is it may take 1 try to get your sound right or might take 100. I was about 10 years old when I made my first song with the help of my brother. He always saw the star in me before I saw it myself. Growing up, I had to overcome some obstacles, but I never let them define who I would be today. Saying my affirmations and and doing the inner healing work has helped tremendously not only with my mental and emotional health but my success as well. I feel my spirit and vibes make me different from other artists. There isn’t a particular sound that I focus on I just bring the best every time I’m gifted an opportunity to show my talents. I want the world to feel me on a deeper level and know that you aren’t alone going through your darkest times it’s up to you to make a choice and turn your life in the right direction you want it to go in. I’m all about living your dreams. Anything you visualize you can have.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First we would go to Lenox Square grab a few nice things. Then we would grab some lunch I love Bar Taco , it’s a go to lunch spot for me with plenty of options for everyone. Then we would head to the Doppler Studios and vibe out while I record some tracks for my mixtape dropping in March of 2022. We would finish the night out with dinner and an outing. We would probably go to Fins and Feathers it’s a lit atmosphere and the drinks and food are amazing the hookah and dj are an added plus . Then we would check out Zari Nightclub , Eleven45 and finish the night off at Tatse to catch the after party.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and encouragement of my family and close friends. Big shout out to my sister Dash Preistley for always pushing me to be bold and stand out in the crowd, and a huge shout out to my 4 year old daughter for always keeping me balanced and loving me because I’m simply me.
