We had the good fortune of connecting with Spencity and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Spencity, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
My daughter. She’s the reason I breathe. I wake up in the morning and she says things like “Dad, I’m gonna be a rockstar!” And she’s only 4! So everything I do is for her. The path a lay forward to the legacy I leave behind. Joi really is my reason for success and the most important factor behind my success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I literally earned my name. I’m from a dirt road in Mississippi. I always had to view the world as a bigger place just to motivate myself to work out. Spencity is more than a brand, it’s an experience. I’ve driven over 300,000 miles in a 18 month period spreading my music, meeting artists and promoters, and committing myself to bringing love back into the household. 3 cars in 2 years. Multiple rough nights. It has not been easy but there’s nothing like turning yourself into the person you’ve always saw yourself becoming. I’ve had to learn that relationships was the name of the game and I had to go and build some. And by doing that all over the country, I’ve placed myself in a position to always keep myself booked. This way I can tell the WORLD the story of a country boy raised by a single mother with no money, who went to college, dropped out, got locked up, only to get out and work with some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industries..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I’ve recently moved to the Atlanta area. And I’ve found this little spot in midtown called Casa Almenera. They have the best steak and eggs in city. I hang at 2 chainz’s Lounges throughout the week. Really dope spot with great food. And ya never know who’s coming through the door. It’s literally Black Hollywood, so there’s always something to do, something going on. One thing I love about being here is that opportunity is literally right outside the door.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All love goes to my cousin Luke. AKA Minilu aka lj_beetz . He’s the reason I got started creating my own music. Even to this day my music is still driven by his tracks and influence.
