We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophonie Blanc and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophonie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

My name is Sophonie Blanc also known as SoBlanc.
I always wanted to create a service for small businesses and creatives. I always had a niche for marketing and creating content since a young child. My father seen the gift of music in me and he also swore I can sell water to the ocean. Lol. Over the years I became fascinated with black Wall street and the history behind it. I thought to myself how can I share my gift and create generational wealth while doing what I love to do. Marketing and music!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Marketing, Business and Art goes hand in hand.

I created a band called Abstract Rain that provided music services to business owners or anyone who needed live music, jingle created or a singer for an event etc. While also providing support through. SEO, Content Creation, Social Media Marketing. A one stop shop for brand awareness and growth.
A little bit about myself, I graduated from Yale University in 2021 where I studied digital marketing. I have been doing marketing for almost 10 years before deciding to start my own business.
Things were not easy at first. I had to find funding to support my overhead and also keep a second income to make sure my business stayed afloat. I was dedicated and determined to make sure that my black owned business was successful. I provided my services to other businesses etc and word of mouth about my work in content creation , music and social media started to spread. Being a creative myself, I’m always on the scene and met others who needed the guidance and services I provided. I understood the assignment always. I listen to the needs of the client and created a marketing proposal, made sure to stay ahead of the competitors of whatever business the client has, with creative content, SEO,  live music if needed or created a jingle for a commercial, website etc. My goal is to always support the success of the clients business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

So I am going to answer this question as if Im the reader ::: I am you reading this now 🙂 ::: and my friend is coming into town.
First let me say that  my girlfriends and I are pretty chill and laid back. We don’t do any clubbing but will see a show, hang out at a lounge or travel. My version of fun is good conversation, laughter, food, an environment that’s a great vibe and exploring new night life spots and restaurants.
If my best friend were to come to Massachusetts for a week we are acting like tourist. We will be doing tours in downtown boston, checking out night life like the market place in faneuil hall and great food is always a must. So we will be hitting west end grill for their amazing short ribs. Oh, and shopping at the Braintree mall is a must. Some shopping therapy never hurts anyone ::: Wink :::
I love to eat. I cook at home mostly so my friends are completely spoiled but when I do eat out Eddie V and Del Frisco never fails me.
I’m also hitting a spot with live music and good drinks! So Darryl’s corner, house of blues or middle east are our go to spots.
I’m that girl that gets lost in the vibes. I will dance even if I am the only one on the dance floor. My friends are music lovers as well and will join me until our feet hurts. It’s a great time always at these spots. Live life to the fullest!
