Hi Sonya, what do you want your legacy to be?

I want to be remembered as the catalyst of love, the guiding light towards higher consciousness. I aspire to lead people on their unique journey of healing and self-discovery, empowering them to become the best versions of themselves . May my impact ripple through their lives, fostering a world where love and personal growth thrive.

What should our readers know about your business?
Intimate App is a woman-led business in tech. Starting this company was a decision driven by two intentions: to restore people’s belief in love and to provide them with the necessary tools for healthy relationships. Unlike traditional dating apps, Intimate will go beyond swiping and matching, we recognize that compatibility alone is not enough for a relationship to thrive. To ensure the app’s success in this area, we gathered a team of relationship coaches, therapists, and a psychiatrist, and conducted interviews with couples and singles worldwide to understand the challenges and successes of modern-day relationships. So I assure you Intimate App will be a disruptor in the dating app industry. People often ask me why I left my stable 14-year nursing career to venture into tech entrepreneurship and undergo a seed round of fundraising for a startup. Many deemed it crazy. However, the answer is simple, I was called to pursue this path and I want other entrepreneurs to not just understand what I’m about to say I need you to Over-Stand this, the path for your life is not for anyone else to understand but you because it’s not a community project!

Now this is part of my story where I wish I could say everything went smoothly and fell into place because of divine intervention, but that would be far from the truth. Like any entrepreneurial journey, I faced numerous challenges along the way along the way. However, I had already committed myself to seeing my plan A through, with no fallback options.
I knew that resilience, endurance, strength, and faith were essential for building a successful business. So, in the face of adversity, I chose to confront it head-on, rather than running away or giving up.

I vividly recall pitching to investors and hearing more “no’s” than “yes’s” but surprisingly, I found excitement in hearing “no” because it meant I was one step or should I say one person closer to hearing that coveted “Yes”. As entrepreneurs, we need to develop a mindset that embraces rejection and sees it as an opportunity for growth.

Being in the entrepreneurial space demands a unique mindset, and it is crucial to have open conversations about the true realities of this journey. Social media often misleads aspiring entrepreneurs by showcasing only wins and highs, creating an unrealistic perception of the entrepreneurial grind. I believe it is essential to shed light on the day-to-day challenges and struggles entrepreneurs face. Not to discourage individuals from pursuing entrepreneurship but to better prepare them for the road ahead, ultimately enabling them to thrive.
