We had the good fortune of connecting with Sonni Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sonni, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had been looking into starting an IV Hydration business for over a year. I’m all about stepping out on faith and the rest will follow.

I took a class in November of 2021, where I met my awesome mentor; whom I am more than grateful for because she is more than a mentor.

I had been traveling as a Covid-19 nurse since December 2020 and was beginning to feel a little burnt out; physically, mentally and emotionally.

I then began thinking on how to ensure that people didn’t only look at health and particularly their health as not only a necessity but a LUXURY. We make time for everything but when it comes to our health not so much until something happens. So I want to educate on the body. Why it’s so important to take care of the body because you only get one. I began looking at myself and what I could do to make myself feel better because when you feel good, you look good and you perform even better.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others? well the fact that I’m just ME at all times. I’m genuine, and I genuinely care. I care about how you feel before, during and after. You’re not just a number with me; I actually take the initiative to get to know everyone I come in contact with. Nothing worth having is ever easy! It’s not easy today and won’t be tomorrow. There has been plenty of times i have wanted to quit but I think about all the time I’ve put into it and try not to act off emotion. I have to decompress and emotionally get myself back together because as my mentor says, “Cry! Your business does not care about your feelings”. Somebody has to run it, regardless. Social media makes everything look and seem so easy, never highlighting the trials. I would like the world to know that there are plenty of days that I want to quit but I continue to show up because I never know who I will run into and could possibly make a difference in their life. That’s what I look forward to the most. I also never know who I will run into who will make a difference in mine.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to eat! So we would definitely have to go to a steak house STK is at the top of my list right now. Lol! We would definitely go to Gthr GVL, group therapy for some fun things to do. Going to brunch is one of my favorite things to do. So brunch would have to be on the list. A nice winery, because I love a good charcuterie board and good wine. A chill girls night at the house is always a good night.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I would like to thank God. My family, for always believing in me and supporting me with all of my current and future endeavors. My friends as well as my Mentor Monica. Thank you all!
