We had the good fortune of connecting with Sonia Zaher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sonia, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
As a parent my main goal is to be a friend to my kids who listen with no judgment, validate their feelings , avoid over reacting, make them feel that I am a safe person to express their emotions , opinions and mistakes. Together we work through challenges to find solutions as a team. It took years of patience and understanding to reach that level of trust but now as we have it, there is no greater reward than knowing that my kids see me as their safe haven .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I loved art since I was a kid but life took me into other directions. After graduating from engineering school, I worked as engineer for years leaving little time for my passion. As Covid hit and I had to stay home, I finally got the opportunity to fully embrace what I love most- creating art. Blending my love for painting and cake design to create unique handcrafted pieces. What sets me apart is paying attention to the details and emotions in all my art. I want to pass the purity, calmness and beauty to my audience ensuring a meaningful prospective for each piece .
My journey as an artist has been anything but easy. As a self taught artist It took years of practice, persistence and build confidence . There was times of self doubt and balancing creativity with business side of things, but I overcome this by staying true to my vision and grabbing any opportunity to grow.
