We had the good fortune of connecting with Sonia Latin Music and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sonia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Love what I do and always do it with passion. It doesn’t matter if I’m tired or going through a personal problem, every time I sing I do it with love, dedication and passion.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I sing at all kinds of events, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, entertaining restaurants or local establishments, opening concerts, etc. What sets me apart from others is my versatility to sing various musical genres, adapting to the taste of each audience. It makes me proud that people connect with me when I sing and enjoy that moment as much as I do. I began to sing in a school band and then I sang for 15 years in the choir of the church in my community, which helped me today to be able to sing doing harmony of voices. Emigrating to this country was the impetus I needed to dedicate myself to this profession, because the university career I studied in my country could not be practiced in this country. The road is not easy to travel, but success lies in working looking forward, taking the hand of the one who wants to help you and giving a hand to help others. I have learned that in life you must dedicate yourself to what you love and like to do, that way you will do it well and be successful. It’s never too late to work on achieving your dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the things I like most about this city is the nature. That’s why I would start by taking him to the Botanical Garden and when I left I would take him for a walk in Piedmont Park. Another day, take her to the aquarium to observe the wonders found in the sea. Leaving there we would walk through Centenial Park. On a third day I would take her to the Zoo and on the way out we would walk through Grant Park. I love to walk in the Parks and enjoy looking at the trees. I would dedicate a day to go to Helen and tour it doing all the activities that the Town offers to visitors. Another day I would take her to six flags to enjoy a huge roller coaster park. I would choose one of the waterfalls in the state to visit. I would take her to see a shopping center like Perimeter or North Point. My house would undoubtedly be a mandatory stop to share a good barbecue and sing karaoke with the family. The food would be as follows: Breakfast (Mc Donald, IHOP) Lunch (Chipotle, Grandma’s Delights) and Dinner (DFloridian, Maracuchos Foood)

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My inspiration to start singing was my father, who used to sing at family gatherings accompanied by my uncles on guitar and the Venezuelan cuatro. But definitely the unconditional support of my husband is the one who has allowed me to get where I have, working by my side in managing my career, image, marketing, performance, etc. He has always been my number 1 fan.
