We had the good fortune of connecting with Sofiya Derehuz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sofiya, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I had found that taking risks goes hand in hand with starting your own business and manifesting the life you want to lead. I’d consider myself an active un-calculated risk taker. The largest and most positive shifts in my life have always come from taking a big leap and not always knowing where I’m going to land. I’ve learned throughout the years to rely heavily on my intuition towards any decision I make.. But grant myself some grace and empathy when it turns out differently than I expected or hoped for. For me risk taking represents limitless potential and possibility.
I always believe that taking a risk is better than being too scared to do anything. Time is too precious to keep waiting for a miracle to happen.
My motivational phrase Who does not take risks does not drink champagne!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My mother worked in a fashion atelier and I literally grew up under a sewing table. I grew up in an atmosphere of femininity beauty. My mother was like a fashion fairy for me, she could sew any clothes, and make my life come true any dream.

I have seen women transform when they put on a new dress.
I heard the phrase many times that clothes can change life, I’m not sure about it, but clothes definitely affect a woman’s mood!
As a an Esthetician, I have worked with a huge number of women, not all of them were beautifully dressed or looked beautiful.
I understand that clothes affect the emotional state of a woman.
I wanted to give every woman a sense of elegance, beauty and femininity, conveyed through clothing.
That’s why I always dreamed of opening a fashion boutique. But not just a boutique, but to create an atmosphere, diving into which a woman will find a beautiful outfit and a wonderful feeling of beauty and femininity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Georgia has many beautiful places to visit. One of my favorite places to recharge my energy, to enjoy the Gods creattion is the Sone Mountain.
When I drive up into the mountains after a long time, the smell of pine, trees and the crisp, fresh mountain air are a welcome relief from the stressful city life.
I believe the combination of unplugging and spending time outside may be the answer to many of life’s ills. I know that combination works for me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My children are my biggest motivation. They are my sails. My sun, moon and stars in every aspect of my life.
Thanks to them I move, I want to grow I want to explore this world and create more.
And of course my grateful clients who inspire me.
When I see how a woman transforms when she puts on a beautiful new dress or coat. When sparks light up in her eyes: “Look how beautiful I am! This world is for me! I am worthy!”
It would seem that this is just clothes, but the right clothes can change your whole life!
That’s all I need to be happy.
