We had the good fortune of connecting with Snapz Official and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Snapz, why did you pursue a creative career?
I know this is going to sound all too familiar, but I did not get a very good support system growing up. I was often made fun of for having different thoughts or liking certain music or shows. So, in a sense I was actually afraid of pursing my dreams. I thought I could live working in an office or doing security, but I felt like I was literally dying watching the days go by week after week. It definitely paid the bills, but my true passion is Art. I love all kinds of Art music film modeling it’s a way I can express MYSELF. If I could tell my younger self anything it would be don’t be afraid to be yourself. The world has a million of the same things be that person who stands out.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is different because it’s MY STORY. Alot of artist like to go with trends or what they think the people like, not me. My art starts those conversations some people want to have but don’t know where to begin. I express ME to the fullest the good and the bad, happy and sad. I say things that may shock you but not surprise you. It’s never easy following your dreams and that’s also what makes it fun. When you fail that doesn’t mean quit it means adjust your strategy and start over. If I learned anything it’s that you can’t lose who you are because your identity is what sets you apart from the others and if you lose that your just another cog in the machine. What I want the world to know about my story is that it’s still being written, and the ending is changing every day no matter what the pages in back of me have on them it’s the blank ones in front of me that get me excited.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I like to go to Venice Beach and walk the boardwalk to see the different acts and people. Believe it or not if I’m not cooking myself, I often visit food trucks over restaurants. One restaurant I would recommend Martins Cantina in Inglewood family-owned great food excellent service.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a big thanks to my son he is the reason I want to be the very best version of myself. Also, my fans and supporters who have been with me locally and abroad taking this journey with me. My engineers and producers for the long studio nights. The photographers and videographers who got all the greatest shots and scenes I could ask for. Last but not least my family and friends you guys may not have understood me at first but took the time to get to know me and that means a lot.
