We had the good fortune of connecting with Siphosihle Mahlangu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Siphosihle, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a creative career because I always saw myself as an artist other than just a rapper. My music is different from what every artist is doing and I can paint a unique image in people’s minds. I tried to be creative with my sound and I’ve been making the effort of getting people like my type of music.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is that my music is unique and the sound that I created with my producer is not found anywhere else in Africa. I got to where I am today by promoting myself on social media platforms and doing free shows around my neighborhood. It was not easy because I had to overcome all the criticism I got for making this type of music. The lesson I’ve learned along the way is that trust and commitment in your circle is goes a long way. What I want the world to know about me is that I’m dedicated to do whatever it takes for me to not only be a successful musician in Africa, but to be one of the best musicians around the globe.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friend to The Grove mall because there are beautiful restaurants where we can eat, there’s a fun company which has a lot of interesting games, and there’s also an Ice Rink whereby people can go ice skating. Another place I would take my friend to is the Gold Reef City, which is kind of a theme park and it has a lot of interesting rides.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my brother “Pro Deuce” for being a huge inspiration to me because i wouldn’t have been an artist if it wasn’t for him. Another shoutout goes to my producer “Yuppe” because he helped me discover the type of sound I wanted to make, I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for him. Another shoutout goes to my family for always having my back.
