Meet Simplee Bree: CEO of the “He Said What?!” Radio Network / Online Personality

We had the good fortune of connecting with Simplee Bree and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Simplee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was based on communication as a whole and not just as an individual. When I first created what soon branched out to become my radio network, my set goal was to create a platform where men and women would be able to come together and bridge the communication gap, once and for all. Often, do we find ourselves in relationships (friendship-only, family, romantic, or colleagues) full of misguided information or false understandings of the opposite gender. We assume we know men or women like the back of our hands, but it isn’t until we’re allowed these same assumptions to hit us dead smack in the face, do we realize not everyone is the same.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
“He Said What?!” Radio Network is the home of various shows streaming online and across all of the major media platforms, caters to its audience on sports, music, masculine perspectives, and feminine perspectives. What sets my network apart from all the others is our ability to entertain while educating you at the same time, organically. “Simplee Sportz,” with Mike, RG, and I, allow us to shed light humor on Boxing, NBA, NFL, and games from the previous week while also engaging in topic-set discussions. I also host “Studio Vibez,” which allows for a different Independent Artist each week to showcase three of their top tracks during a fifteen-minute show where they also are interviewed in between. This creates a rapport with the artist and the audience of the “He Said What?!” Radio Network, building their listenership while promoting their music globally. On the “He Said What?!” show, one male guest is invited to answer questions truthfully from a male’s perspective based on our female audience’s topics. My love for understanding and growth goes beyond any type of personal satisfaction of my own. To learn my listeners gather what is shared on the shows and apply them to their own lives proves to me that this method works. The “She Said What?!” show, similar to “He Said What?!” and hosted by Alan Newman Jr., opens the platform up to our female guests who address questions based on questions men would like the insight from woman’s personal perspectives. This clears the air on any assumptions or preconceived notions in society and helps men understand women with more clarity. Where I am today was not an easy road. I remember joining a group on a central social media platform, seeking guidance because podcasting was new to me. After reaching out to one of the members for advice, I was ridiculed for my lack of knowledge after he provided his consultation. This was upsetting at the time, but it did not stop me from progressing forward with supportive people in my corner. It just helped me realize that everyone who might claim to know it all might not be the best ones to consult with, and sometimes, we need to bump our knees or head a few times before it all clicks. Through personal growth, I learned the road to success would not be an easy one, but as time goes on and I see the elevation, I am so thankful for every hiccup and bump in the road that I crossed paths with. The lessons that I learned along the way were:
1. Never get comfortable. Comfort will open you up to failure, setbacks, and being taken off your destined path. Expect the unexpected, so when it does occur, you’re three steps ahead of the game.
2. Be open to stepping outside of the box. Things that challenge you will help grow you, whereas the things that come easy simply fall into a stalemate form in my eyes. Every day, you should be doing something different to help expand who you are and how you operate during unforeseen circumstances.
3. Plan ahead. When it comes to booking guests for the shows, I like to have at least three months in advance scheduled out. I’ve learned the hard way, and this created unnecessary anxiety. I want the world to know that we all don’t have the answers, but there’s nothing wrong with trying to figure it out. No one is perfect, and that is why mistakes are here. They soften the blow and allow you to seek other opportunities or even different ways to find your success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friends were visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever, I would take them to the following: A Good Night Out Dancing – Whiskey Mistress, Rose Bar, Monticello Grab a bite to eat – La Parilla (Great Margaritas and Guacamole), Tin Lizzys, Houstons, Casa Grande, Marietta Diner, Marietta Fish Market, Blue Moon Fun: Sparkles Skating Rink, NCG Movies, any Escape the Room, Dave & Busters, Main Event Visit: The Civil Rights Museum, Coca Cola, Lenox Mall, Cumberland Mall, Garra Spa (when it was open), Piedmont Park, Little Five Points.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout to everyone who believed in me from the very beginning and did not give up. I would like to thank my son “Engineer Moses,” for being my backbone and taking on the role of my protege as I continue on this journey not only towards success but for the betterment in the way we all communicate with one another. I want to thank my mother for being in my corner and encouraging me to keep pushing forward even when things get tough. And finally, I want to thank the entire “He Said What?! Radio Network” for being yourselves organically and showing the world why we’re #1 in the nation!
