We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Merritt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simone, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing most people don’t realize about the HR consulting and government contracting space is how much strategy and relationship-building happens behind the scenes. It’s not just about winning contracts—it’s about understanding agency needs, staying compliant, and being ready to deliver with excellence the moment an opportunity opens up.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has been a tapestry of challenges, growth, and unwavering determination. Starting in the consulting and government contracting sector, I quickly realized that success isn’t just about securing contracts—it’s about building genuine relationships, understanding the nuanced needs of each agency, and delivering excellence consistently.

What sets me apart is my intimate approach. I don’t just focus on the immediate task at hand; I delve deep into understanding the broader impact of each project, ensuring that our solutions are sustainable and truly beneficial for the communities we serve.

One of my proudest achievements is mentoring emerging professionals in the industry or in business in general. Seeing them grow, take on leadership roles, and drive meaningful change reinforces my belief in the power of guidance and shared knowledge.

The journey hasn’t always been smooth. There were moments of doubt, projects that didn’t go as planned, and lessons learned the hard way. But each challenge taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying true to one’s values.

Through it all, I’ve learned that authenticity, continuous learning, and a genuine passion for making a difference are the cornerstones of lasting success. I want the world to know that my brand isn’t just about delivering results—it’s about creating a legacy of integrity, empowerment, and positive impact

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an advent sports enthusiast and Atlanta Hawks Season ticket member, State Farm Area is one of my favorites. During the off-season, I love experiencing concerts at many of the Atlanta venues. So, we would probably go to a concert and a sporting event.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to my incredible support system—God, my husband, my family, mentors, and the amazing team at my company. Your unwavering belief in me has been the cornerstone of my journey. To every teacher and advisor who saw potential in me, thank you for your guidance and encouragement. Your collective support has shaped my path, and I carry your wisdom with me every step of the way.
