We had the good fortune of connecting with Simeon Fabunmi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simeon, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue artistic/creative career because plain and simply being creative just comes naturally to me so it became logical to capitalize on it and make something worthwhile out of it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My Photography is something I’m very passionate about. I’m most proud of developing my style, it’s the one thing that allows my work stand out in the sea of talent that is Atlanta. Every now and then someone comes across my photos and recognizes it as my work or compares them to another photographer I’m inspired by, that it is always very validating. One thing I’ve always adhered to that I believe has helped my career greatly is chasing after the big shots until I’m in a lane of my own. Seeing others kill the game is something that motivates me like mad, instead of getting discouraged I get to work!!! As of now I’m growing S.Fabunmi Photography to something that ties my many passions and talents together. It is definitely going to take a lot of work, but it will be something you won’t come across every day. I am very excited to say Y’all ain’t seen nothing yet!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man!! Atlanta is full of hotspots! Ponce city market would definitely be the first stop, there’s so much to do and eat there. A calm cultured afternoon would warrant a trip to the high museum. For some mid day late night fun the Painted Pin is a go to. To top everything off a late afternoon picnic in piedmont park on a Sunday would be the icing on the cake. My list of places to eat is way too extensive so I won’t even go there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shout out to the entire creative scene in Atlanta, mainly for their many talents, which always motivate and inspire me to do better, and be better.
