We had the good fortune of connecting with Sierra Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sierra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As I was finishing high school, of course my friends were beginning to apply for colleges. I still had no clue on my future or career. I began praying as I am a very religious person. I put my trust and faith and God and know he will guide my path. This was something I prayed about frequently. One night I was laying in my bed and and had an overwhelming feeling take over me as I was scrolling on instagram. I remember looking at other photographers work and thinking, “I can do this!!!!” Christmas was approaching so I asked my mom for my first DSLR camera. I knew that I could make something from it. I went into my business head strong and filled with faith. Looking back, I poured everything I had into starting my own business. I was working a part time job after school, and then I would come home and do photo shoots of friends to make extra cash. Then I would turn around and pour everything I made, for new upgrades or new gear. All the glory goes to God. This is what He had planned for me and I will always pour my all into my business to show my gratitude back to God!🙏

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am located in Perry, Georgia and travel worldwide. That is one of the many things that set me apart in this over populated industry. What sets me apart is…. I’m not just a signed contract. I don’t deliver just what you signed up for. I go above and beyond for my clients and I truly am so grateful for each client that signs the dotted lines to work with me. If you sign a contract with me, I value you so much! You trust me with your moments and to me that is something so special. When I just started out, it was never for the money. Don’t get me wrong, I was excited to be making extra cash, but I was creating art and it was truly feeling my cup. What fills my cup today is, seeing all the emotions go on throughout a wedding day. I often times get so caught up in the moments. From the first looks with the brides dad, to the first dance with the bride and groom. They are all such special memories and things that only happen once!!! I can’t believe I get to watch love unfold and capture it!!!! It truly is the best job ever!!! It was not easy getting here but we made it. I went through a horrible dark and moody stage with my editing. No hate against dark and moody photographers at all!!! But I can talk about my edits because they were bad!!! You couldn’t even see the eyes sockets of my clients. But hey!!! It was the style back then and they loved it. It was a stage and looking back, I have improved so much. I am so blessed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a good friend visiting, we would probably take a trip to Savannah, Georgia!! Savannah is my favorite place in Georgia and that’s where I do a lot of sessions at as well! From the scenery, to the food, the mossy trees and all the historic buildings, it’s sure of a good time!!😍 We would first make a pit stop in Pooler, GA to hit up the best tanger outlet!! With so many great shops, we would be sure to spend a few hours there!! After spending some money, we would go to Huey’s on the river for a bite to eat! Then we would go to Savannahs kitchen for ice cream and a sugar rush! I would definitely have to introduce her to Byrds cookies!!! It’s a must when visiting Savannah!!!! After all the sugar, we would rent bikes or electric scooters to site see!! This would be the perfect day to me! 😍

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As I wrote in my story, and I will retrace it again because He deserves all the Glory. Thank you Lord for this amazing talent and wisdom you have given me at the age of 17. 8 years later, I am a full time wedding photographer.🤍🙏
