We had the good fortune of connecting with Siedah Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Siedah, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
The one thing about the crystal business that most people are not aware of is the profit margin. Most folks don’t like to talk about money when it comes to selling metaphysical tools. When it comes to running a crystal business the profit margin is much larger than other industries, such as, beauty. Where beauty might be between 10-30%. The crystal business is between 40-70%. With that in mind, it is a great business to get into and scale from a financial standpoint.
What should our readers know about your business?
I started my business, Her Love Collections, because as a self-love author I firmly believe in being yourself, loving yourself, and healing yourself. During my spiritual awakening, I used crystals as tools to help me set my intentions and heal. As the go-to-person, amongst my friends and their friends when it comes to sage and crystals. It was a perfect opportunity for me to marry my love for books, crystals and sage. Starting a business during a pandemic was far from easy. I balanced working vendor tables and managing a online business. Ecommerce is a whole new world for me. What I have learned from being a vendor at local events that I plan to bring with my online business is being on video is a MUST. When someone spots your table from across the room they look at your products and they look at you. Depending how you connect with them through communication, determines if they buy and how much they buy. The deeper the connection the better!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you were visiting, you can bet on me taking you out to eat, walking by the water, and dinner and drinks with my family. I am a very private and personal person so I love intimate moments with my friends and family.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank author Pat McCormick for saying to me, “You Are Love” during our web design sessions back in 2014. It was the message that was sent through her to me that set me on the path of self-discovery and healing. Thank God and my ancestors for the clarity on my path to keep going when the road got tough.
