Meet Shy Smith | Entrepreneur, Author, Investor, and Wife

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shy Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shy, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal is to create a legacy so big, solid, and wealthy, that it’s passed down to my kids, kids, kids. I don’t see an end for my career. I will retire by the age of 35, but my companies will still be standing strong passing down care and knowledge to the beautiful people we’re helping.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I currently manage a Nonprofit called A Parents Desire, Inc. it’s an organization that provides free tutoring to kids in homeless shelters. We mainly focus on the Atlanta area, but we were blessed to help economically disadvantaged kids in other states as well. Our mission is to bridge the Gap in learning and so far we’re doing really well. Our website is www.a parents desire.com being a non profit we strive off of donations so if anyone would like to give there’s a link on our webpage.
Some other businesses we have is a business development company we take on small businesses and help them reach a bigger scale. Investing is a business lol.
I got to where I am today by just being focused, taking classes from people who were where I wanted to be. It was not hard but there was definitely a couple challenges and those challenges are meant to make you stronger. I want the world to know that this company is truly here to make a change
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take a friend to a private island in the Maldives. It’s so peaceful and tropical and the food is so fresh. Waking up early looking into the ocean and just hearing silence. LOL my friends hate vacationing with me because all i literally like to do is relax and meditate. I work enough in the states. Running a major Non- Profit A Parents Desire, Inc it’s a lot of work so when I get to vacation I like to relax.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my friends. They are so supportive. Since I started my journey to entrepreneurship they talk with me endless nights have heard me cry and seen my victories. My sister! I would like to thank my husband because without his support my focus would be other places, we’re really an amazing team together. All of the organizations I was apart of growing up all of the principles and counselors at the schools I’ve attended played a big part in shaping me into the woman I am today. It takes a village to become successful and I’m thankful for mines.
