Meet Shweta Arora Bajaj | Chocolatier

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shweta Arora Bajaj and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shweta, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
What truly fulfills me is creating something that carries meaning beyond itself. Chocolate, for me, is not just a product; it is a medium for connection. When someone tastes one of my bars and pauses for a moment, when their expression softens or they are reminded of a memory, that quiet reaction is everything.
Building my chocolate brand has been more than entrepreneurship. It has been healing, deeply creative, and profoundly personal. Knowing that something I have crafted becomes part of someone’s celebration, comfort, or nostalgia is what brings me genuine joy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a chocolatier and creative entrepreneur, my art lives in flavor. At Cacao And Crave, I blend my Indian roots with classic American inspirations to create small-batch Belgian chocolates that feel both nostalgic and new. Whether it’s Pistachio Rose, Rasmalai, Chai Parle-G, or Hazelnut Toffee, each bar tells a story. That cultural fusion and attention to detail is what truly sets my work apart.
I started this journey from my home kitchen during a time of uncertainty. It wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt, long nights, learning curves, and the challenge of building a brand from scratch while balancing family life. But I overcame those challenges by staying consistent, believing in quality over shortcuts, and listening closely to my customers. Every market, every festival, every repeat order gave me confidence to keep growing.
What I’m most proud of is that Cacao And Crave has grown organically through community support and word of mouth. Everything is still handcrafted in small batches, using high-quality ingredients and thoughtful combinations. I don’t just want to sell chocolate — I want to create experiences that pair beautifully with wine, coffee, or stand confidently on their own.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that growth takes patience, and authenticity matters more than perfection. I want the world to know that behind every bar is a real story — of resilience, creativity, cultural pride, and the courage to start small and dream bigger.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I would give them a beautiful mix of city energy, culture, and unforgettable food.
We would start at Avalon in Alpharetta with coffee and dessert at Cafe Intermezzo. I love the European café feel there. It’s the kind of place where you can sit for hours, talk about life, and enjoy something indulgent. From there, we would walk around Avalon, explore the boutiques, and soak in the relaxed yet upscale atmosphere.
One evening would definitely be dinner at Delbar. Their Mediterranean flavors, beautiful ambiance, and attention to detail make it feel special every time. Atlanta truly shines when it comes to global cuisine.
Of course, I would also take them to some of the incredible Indian restaurants in the area. Atlanta has such a strong and vibrant Indian food scene. Whether it’s refined North Indian dishes or bold street style flavors, it feels like a little taste of home. Sharing that part of my culture is always meaningful to me.
We would spend a day walking the BeltLine, visiting the High Museum, and enjoying the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I love how Atlanta balances modern energy with peaceful green spaces.
Closer to home, I would show them Suwanee Town Center and the local farmers markets. Supporting small businesses and seeing the community come together is something I truly value.
And at some point during the week, I would host a wine and chocolate pairing evening featuring Cacao And Crave. For me, the best way to experience a city is through connection, conversation, and something delicious shared around a table.
Atlanta has warmth, diversity, creativity, and heart. That is what makes it home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to the people who believed in me before I fully believed in myself.
My parents, who instilled in me the values of hard work, resilience, and creativity. My family, who have been my quiet strength behind the scenes. And my children, who unknowingly remind me every day to be brave and build something meaningful.
I’m also incredibly grateful to my customers and community. When you start a small, handmade brand, every single order feels personal. The encouragement, the repeat purchases, the heartfelt messages have all played a part in shaping this journey.
Entrepreneurship can feel lonely at times, but I’ve learned that success is always shared. And I carry deep gratitude for everyone who has supported Cacao And Crave along the way.
