Meet Shikha Singh: Lifestyle Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shikha Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shikha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
.Although I was good enough in fashion and styling, I was not confident to run this hobby as a full-fledged business. I knew that to turn this into a business I need more skills apart from creativity. Before I even start, I proactively learned how to handle a camera, color theory, photo, and video editing. Once this is sorted out, I learned how these social media algorithms work. I spent months in training myself before posting a single post on social media.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a lifetsyle blogger who likes to share her ideas and learnings in a fun and creative way. I believe every human being have a right to lead a healthy and fulfilled life and I would be more than happy I could contribute a little bit into it. Current I have more than 29K Instagram followers built over 3 years. It took quite a lot of consistent effort and perseverance. I won’t say it was easy at all but worth fulfilling. There were challenges in lack of skill set, helping hand, fear of judgement and maintaining consistency. The most effective way I learnt to tackle those challenges was to commit myself to improve 1% with each passing day so that I can save myself from overwhelm and don’t be too hard on myself when things don’t go my way. The biggest lesson I learned is to be consistent and always ask right questions and only then right answer would come to you. I would want the world to know that there is girl who is putting an honest effort to bring out creative lifestyle content which they can enjoy and feel that their time was well spent.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is a big and happening city and there is no dearth of places where I would like them to visit. I would like to take them to Ponce City Market to get in touch with city’s history and personality. Crog street market is another gem to do the same. Mercedes Benz stadium is a grand evidence of how this city takes its sports so seriously. How can I forget to take them to Georgia Aquarium, after all it is the best in country. For hiking I would take them to stone mountain and show them the view of the city. Atlanta have really good food joints spread across the city. It’d nice to take them to Jinya Ramen Bar, Desto Ethopian Kitchen, Gu’s Kitchen, Mamak’s Vegan Kitchen

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout to my parents and family for always believing in me. In books, I gained a lot form reading Atomic Habits by James Clear and The Happiness Equation by Neil Pasricha
