We had the good fortune of connecting with Shemariah Pradia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shemariah, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was brought up and raised in the US Virgin Islands. I started my business during the heart of COVID, but I feel like my business was already started because I did things with my family and my friends. They were my first initial clients they always asked me how to make something or for me to cook. I was double bless because both my Grandmother’s it’s cooking and were very important on the island. My mother’s mom, my grandmother ran a barge in saint Thomas way before I was born. But things that she instilled in me was family. How to be Helpful to neighbors given and most importantly how to cook. The only take away that I have is I wish that I learned how to bake the way that she did. My goal is to carry the tradition and teach my children how to cook and learn traditional food so they can teach their children.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a new entrepreneur, that has been in the business for 4 years now, I have experienced challenges and disappointments. But I take them all as a learning process. So I can build my brand and grow and become better at My business and my skills. I feel like life is a adversity and every day. We have challenges but how we deal with the challenges and move forward is how we can be successful in life and build our empire. Anything you set your mind too, and you do even if there is a failure with how things are going with your business. You’re still successful because you took the step and you proceeded with your dream and you tried.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So I am a planner by nature. I love to entertain and I love to plan trips and events. So this question is right up my alley. I tend to do a lot of research. And I am a big foodie So I like to find places that are unique that I have not been to before. And I would set up Something like that where new experiences and memories are formed. So for example, my best friend, I would plan a nice dinner where we could get dressed up. Find a restaurant that we never ate at before. Go to a lounge or a music event. Find a local winery and sample the wines and take lots of pictures.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to Give a shout out to my parents, Who are now deceased? I didn’t come from a traditional home of a mother and a father. My Mother’s sister and husband raised me until I was 14. They didn’t have children of their own and they raised me from a baby until then, at the age of 14 I moved to Virginia and i lived with my father end my stepmother. I feel like my upbringing came from my aunt and her husband I learned different things. American food I learned Caribbean food. I learned Southern life from them. I learned my faith and how to trust in God. On my Dad standpoint I learned how to become a young adult. My father served tours in The golf war and I learned humility and how to serve my country from him I did Join the navy in my twenties and I served as a Corpsman Which is like a LPN or nurse. We have different types of jobs that we do in the medical field. My father also married internationally. And I learned traditional African culture from my stepmother and she was from Liberia and I learned a lot of history and things of the sort from her. So for my life I had a great melting pot of people and? Culture, so to them, I want to say thank you.
