We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelly Winterboer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shelly, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My ethos has always been to help people live their best lives-for them to be in the driver seat of their outcomes. When I experienced the power of coaching in my own life, I immediately knew this was how I was meant to serve and show up in this world. Starting my own business felt like a natural and obvious step.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My path into coaching grew from a lifelong curiosity about people and human behavior. Living in another country and observing different cultures deepened that perspective and shaped my desire to help people live more holistically healthy lives. Coaching became a natural way for me to do that.

What sets me apart is the space I create for people to truly see themselves and move toward the life they want. I have a way of making it light, not arduous yet in a few moments, life changing.

The transformations I’ve witnessed in my clients are what I’m most proud of–watching someone go from feeling stuck to living with clarity and intention is incredibly rewarding. To see them shift from victim to empowered. To stop people pleasing and overthinking to clear decisive living. To choose how they want to show up versus letting their life happen to them. The ripple effect in every area of their lives is fun to watch-relationally, professionally and emotionally!

Building a business isn’t for the faint of heart. Getting something off the ground can feel very vulnerable, there’s trail and error involved and dead ends. And there is success and growth. Helping people and seeing the growth in myself makes that vulnerability worth it. I’ve learned that business challenges aren’t personal–they are an opportunity-to grow skills that need to be learned.

It’s never too late to create change in your life. No matter where you are, you can figure it out with a new perspective and the right support–you are worth doing that for.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend were visiting for a week, I’d start with a hike to Preacher’s Rock for a great view. Then we’d enjoy one of the wineries near Dahlonega. In Atlanta, we’d definitely catch an Atlanta Braves game which is always a good time. For food, I’d take them to Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q and also treat them to dinner at Chops Lobster Bar. We’d visit the Aquarium and do something creative like a pottery class at Mudfire Studio. For me, the perfect visit is a mix of nature, great food and some Atlanta fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a shout to my husband. He’s been my steady–always holding space for me to explore, chase ideas, and grow into who I am. He’s my biggest encourager, my best friend, and the person I love dreaming about the future with. Being fully loved and truly seen by another human is an incredible gift!
