We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelly Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shelly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Stephanie Spence and I were introduced through our daughters and quickly forged a deep friendship. We were captivated by each other’s unique styles and intrigued to learn more about one another from the moment we met. Despite our differences, we found common ground. While I lean towards a Bohemian and edgy aesthetic, Stephanie effortlessly embodies a chic simplicity—often pairing a white t-shirt, jeans, and pearls as her signature look.

During a weekend getaway fueled by Chardonnay and shared dreams, we envisioned creating a boutique that would reflect our tastes—a place where our girlfriends would love to shop. With my entrepreneurial drive leading the way, Stephanie initially hesitated, but with gentle persistence, we embarked on the journey that resulted in Maison Blanc Roswell.

As locals, we aimed to offer our community something extraordinary: a destination for exquisite home decor, stylish outfits for any occasion, luxurious handbags, and memorable gifts. Our guiding principle in curating the store’s collection is simple yet strict: if it doesn’t evoke a unanimous “Heck Yes” from both of us, it doesn’t make the cut. This commitment ensures that everything in Maison Blanc Roswell embodies our brand—An Understated Elegance.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After owning my own salons for many years, I often find the role of being the boss to be solitary at times. Joining forces with Stephanie at Maison Blanc Roswell has been an absolute joy; collaborating with her has exceeded my expectations of fun and fulfillment.

Stephanie and I each bring unique strengths to the table: she has an unmatched affinity for spreadsheets, stemming from her background in accounting, which has been crucial to our operations. Meanwhile, I thrive on envisioning the big picture and inspiring us to dream big.

Over the past year, we’ve honed our partnership and communication skills, resulting in tremendous personal growth for both of us. Maintaining a healthy business relationship is the cornerstone of our enjoyment in this venture. It allows us the freedom to curate our space with items we adore, often finding ourselves tempted to claim one of everything for our own.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Steph and I love all things Roswell Georgia!

Canton Street is a must.. All of the restaurants are fabulous – but we really love Little Alley (for a martini and delicious steak) or Monkey 68, which has amazing signature cocktails and delicious sushi. Gate City is another local favorite to grab a craft beer (Steph likes the sours) and for great people watching! We also love grabbing a drink and a bite from Stoney River (which is conveniently located just a few minutes from our shop).

We would also encourage folks to visit the Roswell Riverwalk for a beautiful walk along the Chattahoochee River or better yet spend a day kayaking down the river.

The Avalon, an outdoor mall is nearby and is a shopaholic’s dream. The Woodhouse Spa is located there and is the ultimate spa escape offering different facials, massages, and body treatments.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom, Jackie, was and will always be a constant inspiration to me. She exuded beauty and confidence. And, always maintained her own unique style that now I deeply admire as an adult.

My personal preference leans towards neutrals, both in home decor and fashion—I often tease Stephanie that I’m “allergic to colors.” My extensive collection of Architectural Digest magazines is a testament to my love for modern, white interiors infused with textured elements that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Meaningful items are key in my approach to home decor.

Stephanie, on the other hand, found inspiration in countless hours spent poring over magazines and websites such as Architectural Digest, Real Simple, Elle Decor, Southern Living, and others. Her admiration for French culture has influenced her appreciation for quality over quantity—a cornerstone of slow fashion and a principle she holds dear.
