We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheba Kinsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheba, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
People over profit. If you focus on building good relationships with people, the people will help you profit.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My top priority is to empower my clients through education. I share knowledge and resources that will allow them to make the best possible decisions as it pertains to building or improving their credit. Some of my proudest moments is when I receive random text messages from clients simply saying – thank you or I was approved!

Honestly, my business was conceived in 2007 after I was denied an auto loan as a result of my poor credit scores. I was desperate for a vehicle at the time, so I started reading and researching ways to improve my credit and applied what I learned- it worked. Then, I started helping friends and family members improve their scores. During that time, the thought of doing it as a business never crossed my mind. Fast forward to 2018, I developed a friendship with my realtor and presented the idea to her and she encouraged me to jump.

Since starting the business, I’ve definitely endured my fair share of highs and lows. Owning a business requires patience and discipline. Whenever I get to a place of frustration and feel overwhelmed, I pause to meditate and pray.

I’ve learned that it’s more rewarding to serve people first than to make a profit. The people you serve will bring the profit.

Bottom Up Services is a company built on love and serving.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has lots of hot spots to hang and have a good time. During the day we will have brunch at Nouveau Bar and Grill located in Jonesboro, GA. After brunch, we may take a stroll around The Battery Atlanta for entertainment and late lunch. Later that evening, we are heading to Kats Cafe for live music or a comedy show.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank and shoutout my realtor/friend, Santia Fox for encouraging me to take that leap of faith. Also, a special shoutout to my clients and family for supporting and referring others to my business.
