Hi shay, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
growing up I knew I always wanted to be my own business woman I knew when I was younger I wanted to be a fashion designer. I always use to love playing dress up games and drawing clothes on figures but that dream never seem to stick.

getting older a lot of things seemed different the love of fashion wasn’t with me when I tried to have my own clothing line back in 2021 it just didn’t hit like it use to also with the passion of doing piercings and tattoos.. I wanted a business I know that’ll stick.. I thought of different things til I got the thought of remembering that I always wanted my own spa and that’s where I got my thought of next business,

I sat for hours , spoke about it to different unsupportive people I though was listening to me, wrote blue prints studied other businesses and society til I got most of the information I needed.

and that’s when I knew I could do it so I started to look for help on what equipments and services I was going to start with and it didn’t happen over night but I started to get the hang and get comfortable of the
thought of becoming a esthetician| Beautician .

I took online classes , practice on hands services , found vendors , gain certificates , gained more knowledge and I became confident In my choice of business and it begin to stick to me.. the idea of having my own spa and that’s when it hit me Beauty Kartel would be the perfect fit for my spa.

I know a lot of people wonder how I came up with the name well cartel is a group of people who’s doing business for money right ? and beauty is combination of qualities, and the C in cartel is replaced with K to stand for Kalon. its a Greek word meaning Ideal perfect Beauty, but in this world perfect is impossible but people enhance and change things about their self to feel or seem perfect.

and that’s how I became to find and create Beauty Kartel.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
my business might not look different apart from other but its the context of how I do my business and why it will stand it out to be different. anybody can do anything the same but everybody isn’t going to feel about everybody that does anything similar. the key to me feeling like my business is different is not try to compete or compare or worry what other doing with there own thought process or business. trying to focus on if your different from others can affect your though of business.

I’m excited to start a new journey and see where it takes me , not everybody can say they’ll do something and actually do it. I’m excited because I can say that made something my self from my ideas and call it mine.

No, not all businesses going to be easy your going to have your doubtful , unsupportive moments , you’ll have bad and good thoughts on starting a business but at the end it’ll be worth it even if it takes time.

I learned that you can have friends don’t always mean they’ll be supportive , you can speak on an idea but dont speak on it too long just do it , train your self not to give up , have self support and blue prints..have fun and don’t over think it ..practice makes perfect and its never too much to extend your knowledge.

I would like to let everybody know that this business came from love and always feeling non motivated from anxiety but Im pushing myself to better. and I want Beauty Kartel to be a huge business in the future.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
if my best friend came to visit , I would take my best friend to Mic karaoke Bar , puttshack , Topgolf , the select , I luv hot pot , sweet water creek , etc but I ill suggest a rooftop view lunch to get air and caught sight of what’s around you to actually feel relaxed while you eat like ponce city market plus you can shop and play mini golf and little games and just vibe.

but if youre someone who likes interesting meeting people I would kinda suggest Atlantic Station , tog golf you can eat , drink and have fun and probably meet different people.

for top view in the city ill suggest the sky view Atlanta it can be a bit scary but its a nice experience or try going to the sundial in down town Atlanta.

other exciting things is catching a game or concert in the city you’ll most likely have fun and see and meet different people that came to visit or lives here.

shoutout to my Loved ones for the support and the negativity to feed of the energy to push better to show those who didn’t stay around that I’m going to make it with or without the love and support . I’m a strong black female with dreams and goals and will continue to go on without anybody stopping me.
