We had the good fortune of connecting with Shay Newton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shay, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
As a new manager in the industry I expect to be met with challenges. With that being said, I don’t believe in giving up but I do believe in pivoting. I try not to become attached to one plan because it will mentally paralyze you if it doesn’t work. What keeps me going is my God, my family and knowing that my service to others will guide me to financial freedom.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
On Third Avenue Management is a remote talent management service where we manage the day to day operations of creatives and entrepreneurs. We proudly represent Riley Knoxx, Destiny Payton, Dakiya Elle, Lady G, and Lil Diffy. We have been able to grow by honing in our gift to guide, advocate, and be a gateway for our clients. As a new company, we typically face challenges getting pass the gatekeepers of the industry. We have learned to never offer what isn’t in our inventory. We are not in the business of selling dreams but we are excited to help our clients achieve them.
My mantra: I don’t need your fork God gave me hands. There is more than one way to get s**t done!
My advice: Don’t miss out on living your BEST life waiting on somebody else. Use what God gave you and get it done.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to
breakfast at Johnny’s Chicken and Waffles
Aquarium for the bougie
Trap Museum for the ratchet
Phipps for the Shoppers
Brunch at Toast on Lenox
Hookah at Copper Cove
Dinner at OLG
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize Kim Dillinger, VP of On Third Avenue Management and Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist
