Meet Shaunie Marie | Graphic Designer & Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaunie Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaunie, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue a creative career because ever since I was a kid, about 10 or 11, I had alway just been super drawn into anything media or design wise. It always captured my attention and of course naturally just became a passion of mine, I had no choice but to pursue it, it almost seemed irrational not to.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others In my field, is my passion for it. I have been so intrigued by the design/media world for as long as I can remember, I have natural flair for it and I believe that it shows not only in my work but also in my communication with clients. It’s not just a job or a check to me, I actually care about my clients and their projects, businesses and brands. I never just put out work for the sake of putting out work, nor will I ever give my clientele careless work, It’s just not me.

I’m most excited about where I believe I’m going this year. The past 6 months I have stepped back from social media and have been doing nothing but learning new skills, bettering my craft and planning for the future. I have so much planned, I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Getting to where I am today professionally has NOT been easy however, anything worth getting to never is. It’s been one huge rollercoaster of emotions, struggle and self doubt but knowing your reason (why) and having a good support system will get you through anything!

One of the biggest lesson I’ve learned thus far is that nobody can want it for you, you have to want it for yourself. It won’t be easy but if you have the hunger, plus the hustle, you can do anything! Another lesson I think that was pretty big for me was learning to not pay attention to what other people are doing and to stop comparing myself to them! Everybody has their own lane and own speed. Comparison is the thief of joy, just focus on yourself and you’ll get there!

Shaunie Marie- Is not just a name, it’s a brand. It’s everything to me. Everything about my brand represent me as a person, it represent my work and my passion. in the finest way possible. When people here the name Shaunie Marie, I want them to thinking about the boss that I am and everything I have and will accomplish.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who deserve a shoutout for just supporting me through this journey, but specifically I’d like to dedicate my shout out to my parents and my sister! They are my biggest cheerleaders, they have always pushed me to follow my dreams and have always believed that I’ll achieve every single one, even on the days where I’m not so sure of it myself. They are always there to pick my head up and inspire me to keep going! They believe in me like nobody else does. They are a huge part of my success!

I’d also like to shoutout my Business Bestie Kourtney Galloway, who is also one of my most loyal clients! Not only does she keep me motivated but she pushes me to be better than I already am, Kourt keeps me on my toes and she just doesn’t know how much I appreciate her for that!

I also have lots of friends and family who support me religiously and never miss a beat, I cherish the love and support they show me, I’m forever thankful for them!
